Owen Burrows Stable Tour

Ahead of some key runners at Ascot and Glorious Goodwood, the Lambourn trainer runs through his talented team at Farncombe Downs Stables.

Owen Burrows has reaped the rewards of his patience in his 11 seasons with a trainer’s licence to date, and having topped the £1 million mark in prize-money in the past three years, he has proved equally adept in the placing of his horses.

The Lambourn trainer notched up 32 winners and a domestic tally of £1,207,418 in 2025, which included a Group 2 success for Waardah in the Lillie Langtry Stakes at Goodwood in August and a win for Royal Dubai in the Group 3 Rose Of Lancaster at Haydock later that same month.

Burrows is currently sitting on 14 winners from just 68 runners, with earnings of £485,109, but that sum could have been swelled considerably had Touleen been afforded a little more luck in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. That filly now heads to the Valiant Stakes at Ascot this Saturday, while Waardah may once again head to Goodwood for the Lillie Langtry.

Burrows said: "We’ve had 14 winners here and one in France, which includes a couple of Group 3s. Hopefully we can keep on kicking now, and we’ve got quite a few that want a little bit of nicer ground and it’s just not happening at the moment."

Burrows kindly spoke to Tony Elves of attheraces.com about his talented team at Farncombe Downs Stables.
