RAAHEEB didn't appear to see out the trip when pitched into the Irish Derby and cutting him back a couple of furlongs appears the logical move. The son of Sea The Stars previously progressed from winning a maiden at Ascot to blitzing the field in the Sandown Classic Trial in April. Admittedly, that form has taken a few knocks, but he was well on top that day and he has untapped potential over this trip. The Italian Derby winner Venetian Prince is surely better than he managed at Royal Ascot last time and could bounce back over this distance. Maho Bay is another potential improver after an unlucky fifth in the Hampton Court.

An interesting edition of this Group 3, there's almost certainly more to come from Maho Bay, who was last seen finishing fifth - he should have been closer - in the Hampton Court at Royal Ascot. The issue is he almost certainly wants further than 10f and so it's RAAHEEB who is fancied to come out on top despite him shouldering a 3lb penalty. The selection is highly thought of and was impressive in April's Classic Trial at Sandown. His next run saw him finish fourth in the Irish Derby, which probably came quickly enough in his progession, and the son of Sea The Stars now returns from 71 days off retaining a ton of potential. Morris Dancer shares the same ownership as Maho Bay and he is an interesting one stepping up to 10f for the first time, while stablemate Harmonics should have gone close in a Glorious Goodwood handicap - he was hampered late when closing.
