LENOXX has been knocking at the door for some time. He was a narrowly beaten favourite last start and having put in two smart efforts on this course can score. SCOTS WAE HAE found solid market support with a promising debut. He is relatively unexposed and can only get better with racing. He can reward followers this time. NAUTICAL FIRE has shown promise in his first two starts and should prefer the return to the turf track. RACHEL'S BOY is better than his last start in the soft. He gets first-time blinkers.

This 1200-metre claiming sprint carries a $3,932 purse and presents a clear choice between proven dirt specialists. NOBRE GUAPO is the most likely winner as he arrives in peak form after winning his last start on turf and possesses the tactical speed to handle the surface switch. He must contend with MURASAMA, a mare who is exceptionally consistent on dirt with three wins from her last five attempts. NEWBURY also enters with strong claims following previous success. While the veterans struggle for form, NOBRE GUAPO has the class edge to see him home.
