WATCH ME SPARKLE could bounce back from a disappointing effort the last time out and may prove the one to beat. Quality Swag finished second over C&D at Delaware Park and Woman Enticed also merit consideration.

#8 He Was Me finished last season in fine form, winning twice from his final five starts, and his trial suggests he has returned ready to pick up where he left off. #10 Fortune Kingo makes his first start for Douglas Whyte after 12 runs for Jimmy Ting and will appreciate finally drawing low. Jerry Chau partnered him in a good-looking recent trial and stays with him on race day, which adds to the appeal. #4 Made For Life is only at his second start in Class 5 and his first look in the grade produced a close-up fourth. Purton taking over is the positive. #5 Verbier backs up quickly and can improve if he gets a cleaner trip without having to do too much early work.

ANNUSHKA'S LIGHT came in for support on debut but seemed to only get into it late. He finished three lengths behind hard-knocking BARRY'S BOY but has scope for improvement and jumps from a plum stall. BARRY'S BOY was beaten in a close call by a promising sort and if the outside going is even, he could finally score. Watch out for CLEAN SWEEP who turned in a decent performance over the track and trip from a wide gate. He has gate No 1 and has improvement to come. MAJOR LEAGUE can start to show but there are many with earning potential including first-timers.

This maiden contest over 1600 Yards on the turf offers a $9,771 purse for three-year-old colts. The story here is a clash between the proven form of PORTENO HAT and the potential of the newcomer HVITSERK. PORTENO HAT arrives in recent peak form after a narrow second-place finish. ULYSSES IRON and CAFE DEL CIELO provide the experienced pressure, while HVITSERK represents a dangerous unknown from a leading stable. Expect PORTENO HAT to sit off the tempo and use his fitness to secure the win.
