Michael Dods Stable Tour

Form profile

Winner of two of her 14 starts and currently rated 65. Came closest to victory this season in a Fillies’ Handicap at Wetherby (5 ½f) in June when runner-up, beaten a nose, to Spiritualism off a mark of 63.

Trainer says

She is what she is and has been a bit disappointing. I think she ties up a bit and we have to manage her, but she wants to be between five and six furlongs. When she gets her conditions she is capable of winning off her mark.

Form profile

Winner of six of his 49 starts and currently rated 64. Finished third, beaten two and a half lengths, to Idyllic in a handicap at Thirsk (1m 4f) in July off a mark of 65.

Trainer says

He is getting on but soft ground and a mile and six, that’s his trip. When he gets that later in the season he still has the enthusiasm so should be capable.

Form profile

Winner of four of his 19 starts and currently rated 77. Returned to winning form with a two and a quarter length victory from Penelope’s Sister at Ayr (1m) in July and followed up with a length win from Count Palatine under a 5lb penalty at Ayr (7f) seven days later.

Trainer says

He has done well and all of his wins have been at Ayr. We won with him the other week and then we pulled him back to seven and won again. He might go to Ayr on Saturday.

Form profile

Winner of 12 of his 51 starts and currently rated 98. Finished seventh, beaten four lengths, to Two Tribes in the Stewards Cup at Goodwood (6f) on Saturday off a mark of 100.

Trainer says

The handicapper has just had him too high for his age. We were always going to go for a high draw in the Stewards’ Cup but we were too late out and the highest we could get was 7. I thought he ran a good race and finished second up the far side and we knew we were on the wrong side. He is 2lb lower than he was on Saturday as the weights for the Stewards’ Cup were out early.

Form profile

Winner of two of his 21 starts and currently rated 73. Finished runner-up, beaten a length, to stablemate Boy Douglas at Ayr (7f) in July.

Trainer says

I thought he ran a good race the other day behind Boy Douglas. He wants seven furlongs, possibly a mile and when he gets a fast pace to aim at he is about ready to win.

Form profile

Winner of 17 of his 74 starts and currently rated 85. Gained his last success on his reappearance at Ripon (6f) in April when beating Aberama Gold three quarters of a length off a mark of 85.

Trainer says

He is getting on now and needs a bit of help from the handicapper. He needs soft ground hence I haven’t been running him. He won first time out at Ripon and I could see him winning another one before the end of the season.

Form profile

Winner of seven of his 30 starts and currently rated 77. Finished runner-up, beaten a length, to Galaxy Zoo in a fillies’ handicap at Ascot (5f) in July off a mark of 77.

Trainer says

She did well and won at Beverley, then ran a blinder at Ascot the other day. She wants a stiff five and we are a bit limited on tracks really as she needs that uphill finish. She is still, hopefully, capable off her handicap mark.

Form profile

Winner of four of his 34 starts and currently rated 72. Came closest to victory this season when runner-up, beaten three quarters of a length, to Duke’s Command at Doncaster (1m) in June off a mark of 74.

Trainer says

He needs fast ground and a fast gallop over a mile. The ground was too soft last time but when he gets his conditions he is rated to be winning.

Form profile

Winner of one of his 15 starts and currently rated 76. Finished eighth, beaten nine and three quarter lengths, to Many A Star at Newmarket (6f) in July off a mark of 79.

Trainer says

He has got ability and we just have to work him out. The last time he ran at Newmarket it rained and went heavy, and he didn’t like that. Also Neil Callan’s horse shied and he came off and Neil went underneath him and it just knocked him back a bit. When he gets his conditions and a fast run six, hopefully, he can be winning.

Form profile

Winner of three of his 16 starts and currently rated 80. Gained his last win at Kempton (1m) in June when beating Lunar Orbit a neck off a mark of 76.

Trainer says

He is better going right-handed and on turf he needs plenty of juice in the ground. He acts on the All-Weather and he won well at Kempton recently. We will be looking for right-handed tracks on the turf when he gets his ground or the All-Weather at Kempton.

Form profile

Winner of five of his 47 starts and currently rated 69. Has scored on four occasions this year and added to his tally on his latest outing at Doncaster (5f) in July when beating Money Pockets half a length off a mark of 66.

Trainer says

He has done well this season and he probably runs at Thirsk this week. He is another who needs a fast pace to aim at and coming from off the pace. He has done well and can continue to give a good account.

Form profile

Winner of five of his 36 starts and currently rated 75. Finished fourth, beaten two and three quarter lengths, to Hierarchy in a handicap at Southwell (6f) at the end of July off his current mark.

Trainer says

He is a very straight-forward horse and likes to lead or be handy and has hasn’t ran a bad race recently. The only time he ran a bad race was at Ripon where didn’t handle the track but the handicap may have him now and he is on 75. He is well and enjoys his racing.

Form profile

Winner of nine of his 65 starts and currently rated 64. Finished sixth, beaten three and three quarter lengths, to Classy Al at Ayr (5f) in July off a mark of 66.

Trainer says

He is a good ground horse and five furlongs is his trip. He has done well at Ayr and also done well at Southwell. He is an older horse and when things fall into place he is capable.

Form profile

Winner of seven of his 43 starts and currently rated 98. Finished sixth, beaten three and three quarter lengths, to Two Tribes in the International Handicap at Ascot (7f) in July off a mark of 100.

Trainer says

He is another who has struggled with the handicapper at his age and he ran well at Ascot the last twice and also at Haydock where the track didn’t suit him the same. He likes a bit of faster ground and he is in good form.

Form profile

Winner of four of his 17 starts and currently rated 93. Gained his last success at Goodwood (5f) in July 2024 when beating Miss Attitude a nose off a mark of 87 and not seen out since finishing fourth, beaten a length, to Thunder Moor in a handicap at Southwell (5f) in August of that year off a mark of 93.

Trainer says

Tatterstall is a good horse and he just anticipated the start at Goodwood early in the season and hit the gates and just pulled a muscle but he seems fine now and is back in work. He is a very fast horse and he will probably go to York over a fast five. He needs those tracks like Epsom and Goodwood. Hopefully, he should do well when we get him going again.

Form profile

Winner of four of her 23 starts and currently rated 70. Finished fifth, beaten two lengths, to Mae Amor on her latest outing at Leicester (6f) in July off a mark of 71.

Trainer says

She needs slow ground and a fast pace. She did well at Ayr and then I didn’t feel she got the right pace the last time at Leicester. She needs everything to fall into place and when she gets a fast pace, she is capable of winning again over six furlongs.

Form profile

Winner of 11 of his 88 starts and currently rated 87. Came closest to victory this term when runner-up, beaten a nose, to Muker at Thirsk (5f) off a mark of 88.

Trainer says

He is very high and is probably too high in the handicap. He is in good form and probably needs to be down under 85 at his age. Good, good to soft ground over six furlongs should see him run well later on.

Form profile

Winner of five of his 33 starts and currently rated 59. Finished runner-up, beaten three and a half lengths, to Royal Duke at Ayr (5f) last week.

Trainer says

He just got jarred up a bit early on but I think he has run well the last twice. Hopefully, he is coming back and getting a bit of confidence again.

Form profile

Winner of two of her 13 starts and currently rated 78. Consistent filly who gained her last victory when beating Tiva two lengths at Thirsk (5f) in July off a mark of 68.

Trainer says

She has done well and when she got the soft ground she won. The handicapper has put her up to 78 and she ran well enough at Beverley but the ground was a bit quick for her. When she gets her conditions she could be winning again.

Form profile

Winner of one of her four starts and currently rated 65. Off the mark with a head success from Darn Hot Time in a maiden at Wolverhampton (7f) in June.

Trainer says

She won at Wolverhampton and I just thought she got a bit far behind at Doncaster in a muddling race and didn’t get a clear run. Seven furlongs and possibly a mile will probably be her trip if she gets her conditions she seems well.

Form profile

Winner of two of her 11 starts and currently rated 78. Finished third, beaten half a length, to Classy Al at Hamilton (5f) in July off a mark of 77.

Trainer says

I felt the ground just dried up a bit at Hamilton and I thought she gave the impression she wanted to go back to six furlongs. Five furlongs on a stiff track is ok on soft ground but they just go a bit quick for her on fast ground on an easier track.

Form profile

Winner of one of his nine starts and currently rated 60. Off the mark with a neck success from Madrigal Moment at Ripon (1m 2f) last week.

Trainer says

He runs consistent at his level and he got off the mark the other day at Ripon. He could go anywhere from a mile to a mile and a quarter.

Form profile

Placed in two of his six starts and currently rated 61. Finished runner-up, beaten a length and a half, to Marajito in a maiden handicap at Redcar (5f) in June off his current mark.

Trainer says

He has run well and is just a bit jarred at the moment and will be running later on. He is a horse who may have an All-Weather campaign as well but I think he will be winning over five and six furlongs.

Form profile

Has finished runner-up in three of his six starts and currently rated 68. Beaten only half a length by Atmosphere on latest outing at Thirsk (1m) in July off a mark of 67.

Trainer says

I thought he ran well last time at Thirsk and he likes soft ground. He ran into one at Thirsk and I think he just wants the ground and the right races and he will also strengthen up with time. He should do well.

Form profile

Winner of one of his 10 starts and currently rated 72. Best most recent effort when runner-up, beaten a length, to Miss Hathaway at Nottingham (6f) in July off a mark of 70.

Trainer says

He ran well at Nottingham and the ground wasn’t as slow as he wanted and then he ran at Southwell the other day and we were basically too close to a fast pace. It’s not him and he is horse who wants to be passing horse in the closing stages. He will do well.

Form profile

Winner of two of his seven starts and currently rated 70. Gained his last win at Carlisle (7f) in July when beating Highfield Viking two lengths off a mark of 65.

Trainer says

He won at Carlisle in the soft which is what he needs and he disappointed a bit at Beverley. When he gets his conditions, I think he could be winning again.

Form profile

Winner of two of her seven starts and currently rated 72. Gained her last success on her reappearance at Catterick (5f) in April when beating Lucius Aurelius half a length off a mark of 69.

Trainer says

She won first time and then got jarred up. She seems fine now and will be out in the next couple of weeks on some slow ground.

Form profile

Winner of two of his six starts and currently rated 99. Finished fourth, beaten a length and a quarter, to Nariko at Hamilton (6f) in July off his current mark.

Trainer says

We haven’t run him much and, basically, we weren’t running him because of the ground and with his handicap mark we were finding it hard to get into races. We ran him at York and he hated the ground and we were waiting for a bit of slow ground and I thought it was a good performance at Hamilton but he was just bit free. I think he is a good horse and I think it could develop in time that he could come back to five furlongs. He is a horse with a lot of ability.

Form profile

Winner of three of her 11 starts and currently rated 84. Progressive filly who has won her last three starts. Off the mark with a nine-length victory from Spring Corn in a handicap at Ripon (6f) in July off a mark of 69 and followed up with a six and a half length success from Superior Council at Ayr seven days later under a 6lb penalty. Completed the hat trick when beating Rage Of Thunder half a length at Windsor (6f) later in July off a mark of 80.

Trainer says

She has done well and I thought the handicapper had her a bit high at the start then we claimed off her and she has won her last three. I can’t knock her to be fair - she is a straightforward filly and doing very well.

Form profile

Placed in one of her four starts and currently rated 70. Best effort when runner-up, beaten three quarters of a length, to Dandy Style in novice at Thirsk (6f) in July.

Trainer says

I think the ground the other day at Ripon was a bit quick and I’m not sure she handled the track but she ran well at Thirsk. We will late for a bit of cut in the ground and probably six furlongs.

Form profile

Winner of one of his three starts. Off the mark at Ayr (5 ½f) last week when beating Shouldbeanothering three lengths.

Trainer says

He is quite a nice horse and has come on a lot for his three runs. He won at Ayr last week and, hopefully, he will be a horse that can develop and be a nice horse next year.
