Yarmouth - Wed 15 Jul 2026
None of these can be confidently ruled out, but preference is for ADALIDA. Stuart Williams' filly was second over 5f at Windsor last time and can defy a 2lb rise to go one better on this occasion. Ambishio was not disgraced at Newmarket earlier in the month and has to be noted off 2lb lower, while London Is Blue and Victor Cee could also go well.
Splash is the pick of those with form but has shown little this year and so preference is for STARSHIP LILY. George Scott's filly is closely related to the useful Mojomaker and it would be no surprise to see her play a leading role in a race of this nature, despite a lack of race experience. Rogue Exile is another newcomer worthy of attention.
WAR GAMING displayed plenty of promise when a close second on his racecourse bow at Doncaster earlier in the month and the son of Mehmas could be hard to stop with the benefit of that experience. Kochella struggled at Royal Ascot last time but her debut effort at Pontefract suggests that she can go well at this level, while Henley On Thames is another with strong form claims.
Dion Baker is bidding to make it six wins from his last seven starts and holds an obvious chance in his current mood, but the vote goes to GORGEOUS MR GEORGE. Dylan Cunha's charge completed a double over a mile at this venue on his latest outing and can cope with this drop in trip to bring up the hat-trick. Izzy Fast is another to consider after her runner-up effort over C&D last week.
HIGHLAND HARVEY failed to justify favouritism when occupying the runner-up berth at this level at Brighton last month but, even a repeat of that performance might be good enough to see him record his first career triumph. Spaceage Love Song outran odds of 22/1 to finish second over 1m2f here last week and is one to take seriously for the Michael Bell team. Ten Ten Twenty is another to note.
STARTLED LADY was far from disgraced when third over this trip at Newmarket last month and competes off an unchanged rating. With a similar display, William Knight's filly could prove hard to beat. Lieutenant Sir struck at Ffos Las on his penultimate start and is a player based on that form, especially with Oisin Murphy booked. Superstorm completes the shortlist.
Adalida is the only one of these coming off a good run, finishing runner-up at Windsor last time, and she must go well again, but LONDON IS BLUE looks the sort who is capable of better this season and the dual scorer can be expected to come on plenty for his reappearance run at Bath. He's been eased 2lb and gelded since, so could return to winning ways. Ambishio has slipped below his last win mark and comes in as third choice tried in cheekpieces.
A weak race, Sterling Fortune sets the standard but it's not exactly a high one and it could be worth taking a chance on the newcomer ROGUE EXILE. He's the first foal of a mare who was placed at Listed level in Germany and hails from a respected yard. Splash is respected back in a less competitive race having run in handicaps the last twice.
Horndean showed some promise on debut and should improve although the drop to 5f isn't sure to suit. Let's go with HENLEY ON THAMES instead, the Amo-owned 2yo having improved markedly from start one to two when runner-up to a decent type in the same ownership at Brighton last time. He has more to offers still and can take this before heading into handicaps. War Gaming showed up well on debut over 6f and looks the main danger with the drop in trip likely to be okay.
Two bang in-form rivals here in Dion Baker and GORGEOUS MR GEORGE, with a slight preference for the top weight who has won back-to-back over 1m at the course and isn't expected to have any issue dropping in trip. Up 4lb, he's only a 4yo and open to further progress still. Dion Baker has won five of his last six starts and is hard to knock too much, but he's up in grade and needs more under a penalty to keep the winning run going. Izzy Fast, runner-up over C&D last time, looks best of the remainder.
A weak race that can go to SPACEAGE LOVE SONG, who is coming off a good run in a 10f handicap at the course last time and shouldn't have an issue with the step back up in trip. Highland Harvey, runner-up in a classified event at Brighton last time, is respected once again, while Ten Ten Twenty is of some interest back on the Flat - things haven't worked out over hurdles.
The consistent STARTLED LADY appeals most in a weak handicap. Third over this trip at Newmarket's July course last time, she's off the same mark here and can prove too strong for Dark Side Thunder. That one is on a fair mark but hasn't been at his best of late. Lieutenant Sir might have found the run coming too soon when last of ten under a penalty at Doncaster and is considered on his earlier Ffos Las win.
