Wolverhampton - Fri 8 May 2026
Fine Print is worth a market watch but he needs to step up after twice finishing a well-beaten eighth at Dundalk last month, although he should improve for the rise in trip at a track where he has been successful twice. RUBELLITE is also a C&D winner and was not disgraced when fourth here last month over shorter. She could make the most of this opportunity off the same mark with a clear run. Havachoc has finished third on his last two starts and may do the same now.
LEUCOTHEA was sent off favourite on her Bath introduction and, after a slow beginning, she ran on late into second. Upped slightly in trip and with that run under her belt, a level start could help her to come home in front. Consultation is a nicely-bred daughter of Twilight Son out of a Kingman mare and is one to watch on debut, although Redcar fourth Miss Lizzy is the pick for second.
Forever Perfect is the obvious form pick after winning and finishing second over C&D on her last two starts, but she may be susceptible to an improver. CARAWAY had too much to do from the back of the field before running on into fourth over track and trip on her handicap debut and if she is ridden nearer to the early pace, she has every chance of a first success. Itsonlyrockandroll is interesting in first-time cheekpieces.
WITHTEARSINMYEYES boasts the strongest form on offer. Jack Channon's filly came up against the potentially smart Botagoz when runner-up at Nottingham on debut and meets nothing of that calibre here. Silver Lake failed to threaten at Newmarket on her reappearance but warrants respect with that outing under her belt, while Bintwafaa is related to the Group 1 winners Jan Brueghel and Sovereign and is a newcomer to note.
AUTUMN AFFAIR gave the strong impression this extra yardage would suit when scoring over 6f at Lingfield, beating a subsequent winner in the process. A 3lb rise doesn't look insurmountable and Harry Eustace's filly can go in again. C&D winner Pints In Peace has a fighting chance based on recent efforts on the all-weather, while Arctic Wind could shape well on stable debut having been gelded since last in action.
Bad Habits scored here recently with a bit in hand, while Maury finally opened his account when successful at Lingfield, Both could have a say in the outcome once again, but it could pay to stick with FASTER BEE. Fergal O'Brien's five-year-old was winning over C&D for the second time this year when making all on his latest start and could take some pegging back if allowed his own way in front.
Enter Sandman is 4lb well-in, despite carrying a penalty for last month's Lingfield success. He narrowly beat Nana's Boy George at Newcastle prior to that and that pair are closely matched. LEONIE also carries 6lb extra, but her penalty is negated by Alfie Redman's allowance. She flew home at Kempton on her handicap debut and another bold bid is anticipated from the unexposed daughter of Ubettabelieveit.
The consistent HAVACHOC earns the vote here. He remains 2lb above his last winning mark - he rattled off a hat-trick to begin 2026 - but has been running well in defeat of late and the step back up to 14f is of no issue. Rubellite should have finished closer over 12f here last time and the return to this trip is in her favour. She's the danger, although Apache Eagle promises to be suited by the drop in trip having not stayed 16f last time.
A good opportunity for LEUCOTHEA to go one place better than on debut. Runner-up over almost 6f on firm ground at Bath on that occasion, things clicked late for the filly and, given normal improvement, she looks capable of getting off the mark. Miss Lizzy is the obvious danger, having improved to finish fourth tried in a tongue-tie at Redcar, although Consultation boasts a strong profile and the market will reveal what's expected on debut.
Forever Perfect has really found some form since handicapping and will likely go well again off what remains a competitive mark, but ITSONLYROCKANDROLL is the selection. She ran well on her handicap debut over C&D and, being a well-bred filly from a top yard, it's likely she'll pull out a little progress yet tried in first-time cheekpieces. Third choice is Song Of The Stars, another who could raise her game for the fitting of new headgear.
Sapphire Secret is almost certainly capable of much better than shown on debut given her good connections, while Seet is also coming from the same Newbury maiden having finished fifth. She was green then and should improve plenty, but WITHTEARSINMYEYES has already shown a useful level, when runner-up over this trip at Nottingham on debut, and she's taken to score at the second attempt.
This can go to the progressive AUTUMN AFFAIR, who got off the mark over 6f on his handicap debut at Lingfield and surely has more to offer for her good yard. She's taken to defy a 3lb rise with 7f set to suit. Pints In Peace has been running well enough and should again be thereabouts, but it's the returning Arctic Wind who could emerge as the biggest threat. He was solid enough in novice events and should improve now handicapping.
Bad Habits returned to form when picking up well to win over C&D last time and he's likely to go well once again off 3lb higher, but it's COORAMOOK who is the selection. She's found her form again of late since having blinkers fitted and has landed a handy draw in stall 2. Split Elevens is third choice, the 8yo continuing in good form and being at home over this C&D.
Leonie looks progressive and scored with a bit in hand on her handicap debut at Kempton. She has a capable rider offsetting her penalty and can go well, but ENTER SANDMAN is well in under a penalty of his own and looks capable of landing the hat-trick. He's got a ton of speed and seems particularly well suited to running left-handed round a bend on AW. Nana's Boy George is third choice coming off a good run at Newcastle when runner-up over 5f despite racing keenly.
