Activist is a talented but frustrating horse but you never know which Activist is going to turn up. He ran better at Plumpton in the week, and he likes soft ground and two and a half miles. We might try him over a little bit further. He needs things to fall his way to get his head in front.

He is a nice work horse and has been running well but is just a bit of a weak finisher. He might want stepping up in trip and might not want the ground too soft.

He won nicely at Newton Abbot beating A Pai De Nom who has done well this season and then we went on and won nicely at Exeter. We went to Leicester and thought we would win and he stopped quickly and wasn’t right that day. We have freshened him up since and he likes soft ground. He has been winning over two miles but wants further and he might end up in the EBF Final at Sandown.

He has been a bit frustrating but did it well last time at Market Rasen. Three miles soft ground he likes and, hopefully, he can progress now. He has plenty of size to jump fences but isn’t the most natural, he will probably stay over hurdles for the time being.

He has always been a very backward horse, and he will be better again next year. He came good at Lingfield, and the trainer ran him too quick after that. We have freshened him up and he probably doesn’t want the ground as soft as it is now - hence he hasn’t run. Hopefully, he will get back winning on the spring ground.

Had previously won his first two starts - scoring by seven lengths from Ski Lodge in a handicap chase at Uttoxeter (3m) in December off a mark of 113 and followed up with a three and three quarter length win from Karuma Grey in a similar event at Ffos Las (3m) in January off a mark of 120.

Trainer says

He won nicely at Uttoxeter and Ffos Las and things didn’t happen for him last time at Newbury. He is entered in the Eider, but I don’t know if we go for that. Hopefully we can put a line through his last run. He is not the quickest and probably needs to go out in front and he gives the impression he will gallop all day.

Finished only fourth, beaten 39 lengths, to Sunnyvilla in a similar event at Uttoxeter (2m) a week later off a mark of 119.

Trainer says

He has done really well and two miles in the mud seems to be his trip. We ran him too quickly last time and we have freshened him up. He will be out some time in February.

Things haven’t gone right for him this season, he disappointed at Cheltenham and the ground wasn’t soft enough at Newbury. He will probably go to Ascot this weekend. He promises more and he might be better again when he steps up to three miles.

She was good at Market Rasen recently and she is a tough mare. She wasn’t 100 per cent when I ran her at Cheltenham. She is entered in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, and she will either go there or she will run in the Premier Novices’ Hurdle at Kelso which is just before Cheltenham. She will probably end over three miles one day and she’s a good mare with more to come.

It was really good to see her win at Hereford last time but she, unfortunately, picked up an injury and will miss the rest of the season.

He has been a great horse over the years and is not getting any younger but he’s good and doesn’t want this ground. He is another one who will have a busier dpring campaign. Next year he will be eligible for the Veterans’ races.

He was good at Chepstow and even better at Aintree. I really fancied him last Saturday, but he disappointed. He has an engine and he is entered in the Champion Bumper; there is a possibility he may still go there.

She was good in her first bumper at Sedgefield, and we fancied her that day. She put in a nice performance, and she then ran in the Listed bumper at Market Rasen and she didn’t disgrace herself. We will probably run her in one more bumper in the spring.

He has been placed in all his runs in England and was unlucky not to win when he fell at Fontwell. He will have an entry in the Fred Winter and if he was to get in, he would run there. He has got some ability, but we haven’t quite worked him out yet. You will be hearing more about him.

She promises more than she has delivered so far. We’ve changed a few things with her, and she probably doesn’t want the ground as soft as it is. I think we will be stepping her up in trip.

Trainer says

He ran well at Exeter first time out and was far too keen, but we put a hood on him at Taunton yesterday and he was just mugged on the line. I think he will be a good dual-purpose horse and, hopefully, he will progress and should soon be winning over hurdles.

Winner of three of his four bumpers and made an impressive winning debut for the stable when hacking up by 14 lengths from Moneygarrow in a Listed bumper at Ascot in December 2024.

Trainer says

He hasn’t run this season as he picked up a little injury early on. He is back in training and is entered in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. With the new Rules he has to run before then, so we are probably running out of time. We might end up running in a bumper in Ireland as he is not eligible to run in bumpers in this country and save his hurdling for next season.
