This was a relatively slowly-run race with rather a sprint finish in the home straight which may not have been ideal for Kingston Queen despite her narrow success.
KINGSTON QUEEN After coming to win the race in the home straight she had a good look around on the approach to the final hurdle. This manoeuvre gave a chance to the eventual runner up and resulted in Kingston Queen having to rally and find more to pull this success out of the bag. Apparently, she heads for the mare’s novices' hurdle at Cheltenham next and the softer the ground the better her claims.
WHITE NOISE She looks to have more stamina than speed and, rather like the winning mare, she probably would have benefitted from a stronger pace.
A PATH TO RONDA She did well to finish so close after edging right and losing ground at a few of her hurdles.
