GOLDEN SHIMMER ran a fair race on debut, and with natural improvement expected from this well-bred filly, she can earn. More can improve.

There should not be much to choose between stablemates IT'SGOOD IT'SNICE and UNCLE SAM who finished alongside one another when they met. The former was a promising second again last time and stripping fitter from draw No 1, could get the job done. UNCLE SAM lost lengths at the start but ran on nicely to take the third cheque on debut. He is back from a rest and could show a lot more especially if breaking on terms. Watch out for AFRICAN WILD DOG who was second to Bachata, a horse that went on to finish runner-up in the Gatecrasher Stakes. He too should prefer the trip.

MADRA RUA found a promising sort one too good last time. It was, nevertheless, a fair run after a rest and gelding and he can go on to open his account. THE BIG BANG is back over shorter and must have a big say this time. He is overdue. HILTON HEADS was well behind THE BIG BANG last time but was only a head behind him in a previous run and the drop in trip as well as the fitting of blinkers could see him get into it. The stable is in good form. KIM CHANEL suddenly showed up in her last start and could be the one with decent upside. SICILY must also have a say on form.

Well-bred One World filly JEWEL MULE looks well placed to open her account after a fair debut effort when progressing late into third. She should appreciate the step up to 1200m. ROCK THE ROAD lost valuable ground when finishing behind SCANDALIZE but was making her debut and could have much more to come. She looks a big danger with improvement expected after a break. SPURIOUS is another back from a rest and she has shown some potential. The drop in trip and 4kg apprentice claim could see her in the money. SPANISH WORLD is bred for ground but is one to respect.

MASTER COINER is starting to get the hang of things now. He ran a credible race from the widest draw in his last start and should hold QUIET PLACE (plum gate now) again. READY FOR THE ROAD finished ahead of him the time before and the frontrunner could be even better should the going come up good rather than soft. It could get close. MASTEROFTHEMOON had excuses in his last start. He carries top weight and may prefer a touch further but in his third try under Richard Fourie could just get the timing right. Watch out for WHATWILLBEWILLBE who has potential but jumps from a wide gate.

ROCCAPINA could notch up her first win over the 1400m. The high-class filly is best weighted and jumps from draw No 1. MENTE ET MANU is likely to ensure a decent pace. He made good fractions before tiring in his first run after a rest and must surely improve on the effort. HANDSOME PRINCE finished just ahead of him last time and is even better weighted this time. He could finally score around the turn at this venue. MAJOR MASTER, stablemate to ROCCAPINA, has a good record over the distance but is having his second run after a rest. GOLD GIBOSKI could prefer the trip now.

The horse to watch out for is rested MIAMI SUMMER who is very highly regarded. He should go ground in time but if ready could show his class. LOVING PRAGUE is another that must have more to come. His penultimate effort was decent and may have found 1200m a bit sharp last time. But a wide draw is a worry. SIGNOR DANTE is a hard one to catch when allowed to stride along in front. He has more to do but has a chance of following up on his easy last win. CLARK GRISWOLD beat useful Sommerstern a few runs back and has drawn well. Stablemate FOLLOW YOUR HEART may prefer the trip.

DIAMOND BARON has only had two runs as a three-year-old and came from well off the pace to win last time. He is still learning what it is all about and may make a successful handicap debut. WINTER PEARL showed up well in a stronger race last time and should make things tough. But on previous collateral form he will need to pull out all stops to hold off OZARK and AVIGNON. The latter pair are holding form well but PRINCE OF TIBET could still have their measure after he won a convincing race last time out. Competitive end to the meeting.
