He is going to go novice chasing and is a fine big horse. I am hoping this is going to be the making of him and he’s just had a few setbacks early season but I am looking forward to getting him back and running him. He looks on a decent mark.

He has some very good form and just seems to keep bumping into very good progressive horse. Le Patron beat him at Sandown, and he will go to Kempton on Boxing Day for a 0-135 novices’ handicap chase.

He has done nothing wrong and is still very much a raw horse and needs time to fill out his frame. I think there is more to come as he strengthens and matures.

She is a nice little three-year-old by Blue Bresil. She is ok and I had intended running her before the New Year, but she has just gone a little bit weak on me. I will give her a little more time, but she is a horse to follow. She might go straight over hurdles.

He has done nothing wrong, but the handicapper keeps nudging him up for finishing second. I ran him at Ascot thinking we would just try him right-handed but he is a horse that must go left-handed. He is quite versatile and will handle any ground and he probably didn’t get the three miles at Ascot, and I will drop him back in trip and he will be ridden aggressively from the front.

He keeps surprising me to be honest but there was really no depth to that race at Carlisle on Sunday. If it came up very soft, we would look at at £75,000 race at Plumpton over three mile one. He could go to Sandown for the Help The Heroes Handicap at the end of February or he could run under a penalty at Chepstow on Thursday week.

He is plagued with problems, but he won a valuable ladies handicap at Cartmel and then he injured himself there and galloped into the stable door after the race. He had to have a chip removed from his shin and then he went to Haydock and would have gone closer but for galloping through the last. He went to Hereford the other day and I think the jockey got her fractions really wrong, but he is game. He will have to have a break now as he has an ulcer in his eye which has flared up so we will stop with him now and medicate that.

Time has been the key to him, and I don’t think I ever had him quite right last season. He hasn’t missed a beat and if the weather stays as it is and we get very heavy ground he will go back to Sandown at the end of February for a £100,000 handicap.

He has done absolutely nothing wrong and is ever so consistent. I see the horse that beat him at Ascot won again, and Tea Clipper has danced every dance and runs his races every time. He is on a lower mark now, but progressive young horses seem to have his measure.

He is in at Ffos Las on Thursday. He has done nothing wrong but has been a slow learner. He jumped really well at Uttoxeter last time and kept on really well to the line and is a real winter ground horse.
