Trainer says

Aalto has had no luck in running in his last two runs. He is very kindly handicapped on his best form, and I would be very hopeful of him running a big race at Newmarket on Thursday. He will then have another try at the Bunbury Cup, which he won two years ago and was a very close second in last year.

That was his first outing since finishing third, beaten half a length, behind Alphonse Le Grande in the Cesarewitch Handicap at Newmarket (2m 2f) in October 2024 off the same mark.

Trainer says

He finished third in the Cesarewitch and then had quite a long time off with an injury. He ran well on his first run back at Kempton, showing up well over a trip that was a bit on the short side for him. He will probably end up running in the second division of the Northumberland Plate at the weekend.

The seven-year-old was in resplendent form on the all-weather from January until March, notching up a seven-timer that culminated in a half-length victory over Insuspense at Wolverhampton (6f) off a mark of 69. Beauzon is having a summer off after a really exciting period during the winter, when he won seven in a row. He will be back for the all-weather in the winter.

Unplaced in his three recent runs on turf but finished a creditable third, beaten five and a quarter lengths, behind Berkshire Sundance in the valuable Easter Plate Marathon Handicap at Newcastle (2m ½f) on All-Weather Finals Day in April off a mark of 101.

Trainer says

He hasn’t had a great spring/summer so far, and he got very revved up passing the stands with a circuit to go in the Ascot Stakes on Tuesday. We will find more suitable assignments, and it is possible he might wait until York in August.

Dancing In Paris ran a big race in the Plate last year, and his comeback race at Epsom was very satisfactory. He is another who is likely to run at Newcastle on Saturday.

Trainer says

He has been in good form, and I was disappointed when he got beaten by Jakajaro at Newmarket in April. The winner went onto finish fifth in the King’s Stand, and he has shown some glimpses of good form. He is more than capable off his current mark and just needs things to fall right for him. He was unsuited by the very soft ground at Epsom last time and is another with York on his agenda.

Gained his latest success at Lingfield (2m) in February when beating Roaring Legend by a length and a quarter off a mark of 97.

Trainer says

I was delighted with him at Ascot in the week. Unfortunately he had to move early and go very wide from a poor position turning for home, but there is still plenty of life in the old bugger yet. He is off a fair mark, and he will be competitive in the bigger handicaps - possibly in the bet365 at Newmarket in early July.

I was a little bit disappointed with his fourth at Goodwood on Friday night, but he remains fairly handicapped after his win at Brighton and will be seen to better effect in a race with a good, strong pace.

Hermetic delighted me with his debut for the stable at York, but then he blotted his copybook when getting upset in the stalls at Goodwood next time. Without doubt that cost him any sort of performance in that race. He will be effective at a mile-and-six-plus and is suited to any ground, with the exception of very quick or very slow. He is a big, strong horse who I think could make into a really good stayer.

Lady Ridgewood struggled with her health earlier this season, but she showed distinct signs of a revival at Chester last time. The handicapper has eased her a little and she certainly has a bit of quality - I’m looking forward to her showing it on the track.

He is a nice individual who we took to Dubai this winter, where he wasn’t at his best, but he showed good promise when fourth in a Listed race at Goodwood recently. He is a horse that will be tricky to place to good effect, but he is one we would hope to travel with during the autumn - he could well be seen in foreign shores.

He has run two very respectable races in defeat around Chester this season. He’s a horse that I think will be much more suited to a galloping track, and he will end up racing over staying distance towards the end of summer and autumn. He is fairly handicapped on his current form.

I was a little disappointed that he didn’t get in the Duke Of Edinburgh Handicap on Friday. He was a reserve and then there were two non-runners on the day. These things happen, and he is now likely to go for the Old Newton Cup, which this year will be taking place at Newmarket and not at its usual home of Haydock, where they have had some issues with the ground.

Ozat has put up a couple of good performance in some top handicaps. He was drawn on the unfavourable side at Ascot but has shown enough to suggest he will pay his way in some of the important mile handicaps during the summer. We could possibly even run in the Grande Handicap de Deauville at Deauville in August.

Parlando hasn’t really had the rub of the green this season and so hasn’t shown his best. We took him to St Moritz in the spring, and he has been on the go for a long time. While it’s possible he might spring up at a big price in the coming weeks, he will probably just come back fresh for the autumn.

Real Dream ran a massive race in Saudi Arabia in the spring. He was then a little disappointing at Royal Ascot, not getting a good position early and then having no opportunity to finish his race. He is another that is fairly handicapped, and we will possibly be looking towards the Old Borough Cup for him.

Trainer says

He is owned by a fun syndicate and has certainly given them a little bit of sport on the Flat. We will be hoping to see him do better over hurdles in time as well as over fences. He isn’t going to win at the Olympics, but he will give his owners some real good sport.

I was delighted with his first start back this season at Chester, but then I was a little disappointed that he only managed third in what was quite a competitive race back at Chester next time out. He wasn’t well placed in the early stages of that race and didn’t get the rub of the green. He is a horse that I would love to have seen get in at Royal Ascot, but it wasn’t to be. He will remain competitive in seven-furlong and mile handicaps this summer.

I was very disappointed that he didn’t win at Doncaster last time out. He looked all over the winner a furlong out but just didn’t see it out. He will be seen to better effect over a slightly shorter trip, and he is a horse I would like to think will improve through the ranks in the summer.

Tilani won his two races really nicely, but he was just too keen and over-raced at Goodwood on his latest start. I’m sure he will do better in a more genuinely-run race.

She has taken a couple of races to get back to herself but is now back on an even keel and fairly handicapped. She will be effective in mile-and-a-quarter and mile-and-a-half handicaps, as long as we keep her amongst respectable company.

Aqua Bear ran a really nice comeback race at Ascot, but he was then allowed to over-race on his next start at Goodwood, ending up with little to no chance in what was a very strong race. He will drop back in class and should be effective at a lower level. He is another who will hopefully be progressive during the summer.

He was a little unlucky in the three-year-old dash at Epsom, having been slowly away and stumbling over the road, which totally took him out of the race. He made up for that at Goodwood last Friday and will remain competitive in those types of races, as long as the handicapper doesn’t whop him too hard. He has been on the go a long time, but he keeps finding.

He won nicely for us at Wolverhampton but didn’t run any sort of race at Kempton on his next start. He came back to form with a very close second at Leicester and then won very well at Ffos Las. He should stay a little further and is versatile on any ground, so opportunities should be relatively easy to find for him.
