Ian Williams Stable Tour

Dominion Racing Stables is busy readying a strong team for Newcastle's Northumberland Plate Festival and beyond, including Dancing In Paris and Aqwaam.

Ian Williams will be casting his net in the direction of Newcastle’s Plate meeting once again, where his team is likely to be headed by Dancing In Paris who failed by just a neck behind Spirit Mixer 12 months ago.

The six-year-old had a pipe-opener over an inadequate mile and a half in the Northern Dancer at Epsom earlier this month and could be joined on the Newcastle roster by Aqwaam, who showed his prowess at staying trips when finishing third behind Alphonse Le Grande in the Cesarewitch Handicap at Newmarket in 2024 and had his first run back at Kempton in May.

Williams did, indeed, capture the Cesarewitch last October with Beylerbeyi, and his next assignment could come at York in August.

The Alvechurch trainer has easily passed the £1million prize-money barrier for the past two years and looks right on schedule to do so again, with his 39 winners this year already earning £512,803.

Williams kindly spoke to Tony Elves of attheraces.com as he prepares for a busy week ahead.
