Form profile

103 rated chaser. A short head winner from Ballintubber Boy in a novices’ handicap chase at Ludlow (3m) in October off a mark of 107 but hasn’t reproduced that form in four outings since.

Trainer says

He won nicely first time out at Ludlow but has lost his way and hasn’t been in the same form since. I just wonder if he wants that autumn and spring ground as opposed to that winter ground. He has ability and has won a couple of races and will come again for us in the Spring as I think the ground will be a big help to him.

Form profile

111 rated chaser. Made a bad mistake and fell two out when holding a chance in a handicap chase at Ludlow (3m) won by Ballycamus this month.

Trainer says

He was running a good race when he had quite a heavy fall at Ludlow last time. I think he is a horse who will come again. He is very dependable and reliable. I think he will win again somewhere off his mark in the spring.

Form profile

71 rated chaser. Placed on several occasions and finished fifth, beaten 24 lengths, to Shady B in a handicap chase at Ffos Las (3m) this month off a mark of 74.

Trainer says

Blackacre has been very disappointing and a monkey. However, I think there is a small little race in him somewhere.

Form profile

114 rated hurdler. Improving sort who scored for the third time this season when beating Lanesborough a length at Chepstow (2m 3 1/2f) in January off a mark of 107.

Trainer says

He will probably have a run before Punchestown but that will be his aim, it’s a handicap hurdle on April 29.

Form profile

121 rated chaser. Has finished runner-up in his last two starts. Beaten three and a half lengths by Lowry’s Bar in a handicap chase at Chepstow (2m 3 1/2f) in December off a mark of 119 and off the same mark when failing by three quarters of a length behind Post Chaise at Ludlow (2m 4f) this month.

Trainer says

He is an old boy who has been with us a long time but has run a good race in defeat the last two times. The handicapper has nudged him a bit but there are plenty of opportunities for him around the two and a half/two mile five sort of trip. There is a race at Sandown coming up and he could end up going there. He ran well in defeat there last year and it would be nice to win another race with him as he is a good genuine horse.

Form profile

103 rated chaser. Finished fifth, beaten 18 lengths, to Sacre Coeur in a mares’ handicap chase at Ludlow (2m 4f) this month off a mark of 104.

Trainer says

She is not the force she was - not as good as she was - but saying that she has done nothing wrong this year and has won and run well in defeat. She goes well around Ludlow and those sort of tracks seem to suit her. I’m not sure if she wants it too soft and she might go and win a contest before she goes to the breeding shed. I would like to win again with her as she has been a good mare over the years.

Form profile

114 rated hurdler. Finished runner-up, beaten a neck, to Duffry Trixs in a maiden hurdle at Taunton (2m 3f) this month.

Trainer says

He ran well last time in a maiden hurdle, and he won a little bumper last year. He jumped much better last time and enjoyed Taunton and was very genuine in defeat. We will wait and win a maiden hurdle with him now and I would say as the ground gets faster, he could be very competitive there. That should bring out the best of him.

Form profile

110 rated hurdler. Finished fourth, beaten five lengths, to Whatsupwithyou in a handicap hurdle at Ludlow (2m 5f) this month off his current mark.

Trainer says

He is a very strange horse and doesn’t enjoy jumping fences. He won the worst novices’ hurdle that has been run this year. I would say he is a complete and utter rogue, but he did run a very good race last time when finishing fourth at Ludlow. We will probably keep to hurdles with him.

Form profile

130 rated chaser. A winner at Haydock (2m 1/2f) in November when beating General Medrano a length and a quarter off a mark of 112 and placed in his three starts after. Returned to winning form in a handicap chase at Chepstow (2m) last week when short heading Javert Allen off a mark of 125.

Trainer says

He is a real fun horse and has given his owner Mrs Davies a lot of fun. He handles soft ground very well and likes a really fast-run race over two miles. I thought he ran very well in defeat at Sandown but improved to win last time at Chepstow. He is entered in the Grand Annual at the Festival and we might end up going there or we might wait for the Red Rum Chase at Aintree. It all depends on if I think that Cheltenham comes a bit soon. He is a smashing horse and has progressed nicely for us.

Form profile

84 rated chaser. Has won his last two starts this month - beating Kingcormac two lengths in a handicap chase at Hereford (2m 5f) off a mark of 79 and following up with a three quarter length victory at Leicester (2m 4f) on Tuesday off his current mark.

Trainer says

He is going the right way now is his last couple of starts. His jumping is a joy, and I know he is competing in very low level races but he is progressing and his confidence is growing. I could see him winning again. Against novices his jumping is a major asset.

Form profile

106 rated hurdler. Came closest to winning when runner-up, beaten a head, to Jalisco Star in a mares’ handicap hurdle at Ffos Las (3m) in December off a mark of 105. Finished runner-up on her latest outing in a mares’ novices’ hurdle at Ffos Las (2m) this month off a mark of 108.

Trainer says

She is still a maiden over obstacles, but she is a tough genuine girl who just lacks a change of gear. We will go back chasing next season and I want to win over hurdles as she will make a smashing broodmare. I want to win a bumper, hurdle and a chase. She will win a hurdle at some stage.

Form profile

88 rated chaser. Winning for the second time this season when beating Northern Reel two and a quarter lengths in a novices’ handicap chase at Leicester (2m 4f) in December off a mark of 86.

Trainer says

He is a tough genuine little horse on his day and a real character. He gets on really well with Ellis Collier and I think Ellis has given him some outstanding rides. He deserves a lot of credit for his success, and he will be back in the spring. He is having a bit of a break.

Form profile

96 rated chaser and rated 91 over hurdles. Completed a hat-trick when beating Pitwood Road 22 length in a handicap chase at Southwell (2m 4 1/2f) this month off a mark of 85. May have found the race coming too soon when runner-up, beaten seven and a half lengths, to Onesoc in a handicap chase at Catterick (2m 3f) under a 7lb penalty a week later.

Trainer says

He is a very progressive horse at a low level. There is nothing fancy about where he is going to end up, but he is a genuine horse and he has been a smashing horse for his owners as he turns up and wins races. Anywhere between two and two and a half miles, a sound surface and he will win again off his mark.

Form profile

104 rated chaser. Put in a string of commendable efforts this season before forcing her head in front for a second time when beating Largy Force three and a quarter length in a mares’ handicap chase at Leicester (2m 4f) this month off a mark of 102.

Trainer says

She gave owners the first winner they have had and what a fun mare she has been this year. She has been placed multiple times, and she was tough last and jumped very well and stayed very well. She is one of those horses anybody would love to own as she turns up wins races and is a pleasure for everyone concerned.

Form profile

129 rated hurdler. Has won both of his hurdles beating Lud’or four lengths in a maiden hurdle at Ffos Las (2m) in January and had an easy task when following up with a six-length victory from Ben Solo in a novices’ at Chepstow (2m) this month.

Trainer says

He is a nice big strong horse who travels well and jumps well. He handles soft ground exceptionally well and he has done nothing wrong. The races he has won aren’t deep races and you couldn’t pretend they are, but we have been very taken by him. He is a very, very nice horse for the future. I wouldn’t be surprised if he rocks up at Aintree for a Grade 1 and then I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in the field if it dries out. It is yet to be discussed where we go next, but I could imagine that Aintree will be discussed.

Form profile

151 rated chaser. Made a winning reappearance at Cheltenham (2m 1/2f) in December when scoring by four lengths from Issar d’Airy off a mark of 144. Cracking effort in the Grade 2 Game Spirit Chase at Newbury (2m 1/2f) this month when runner-up, beaten a length and a quarter, to Master Chewy.

Trainer says

He put in a wonderful run last time and it was a huge step up on handicap company. He proved to me that he can bridge that gap between handicapping and grades company. I don’t know whether to go back into handicap company in the Grand Annual or go Queen Mother Champion Chase and a lot will depend on the weather. We will discuss where we go closer to the day, but I want to go to Cheltenham with him as he does enjoy Cheltenham and runs very, very well there. I think the horse enjoyed the experience at Newbury and I think he can run in those types of races and be very competitive.

Form profile

Unraced

Trainer says

Lipstick hasn’t run yet and is entered in the Sales bumper at Doncaster. He is a nice horse, and he goes away this Sunday to gallop. We will know a lot more then.

Form profile

105 rated hurdler. A winner three times this season and gained his last success in a handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot (2m 5f) in November when beating Colonel Lesley a neck off a mark of 92. Finished eighth, beaten 31 lengths, to Oh My Johnny in a handicap hurdle at Hereford (2m 3 1/2f) this month off a mark of 106.

Trainer says

He has been a great fun horse and the kids have ridden winners on him. He is one of those horses who rocks up and gives you a run for your money.

Form profile

111 rated chaser. Best effort this term when runner-up, beaten three of a length, to Ballycamus in a handicap chase at Windsor (3m) in December off his current mark.

Trainer says

He is a horse who is promising to be a better chaser than he was a hurdler, and I think he might improve for another summer at grass. He is bred to be better with age, and I think the more practice he has will stand him in good stead.

Form profile

133 rated hurdler. Winner of both of his hurdle races last season which included victory in a Grade novices’ event at Cheltenham (2m 5f) in November 2023 when beating Captain Teague a length and a half. Finished ninth, beaten nine and a half lengths, to Titan Discovery on his return in a handicap hurdle at Windsor (3m) in January off a mark of 138. Subsequently pulled up before three out in the William Hill Hurdle at Newbury (2m 1/2f) this month off the same mark and then fell two out when weakening in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow (2m 7 1/2f).

Trainer says

He has not trained the same since Cheltenham. I didn’t run him after his Grade 2 success as I couldn’t get him right. On his form he is not the same and we are somewhat in limbo with him. He is in some races at the Cheltenham Festival, and I am not going to say he won’t end up there. He had a fall at Chepstow, and we will see how he is, but his work has been much the same. He is tricky but if I can get him right, who knows.

Form profile

98 rated chaser. Probably best effort when fourth, beaten four and three quarter lengths, to John W Creasy in a novices’ handicap chase at Lingfield (2m) in December off a mark of 100.

Trainer says

He had a bad fall that knocked his confidence, and he jumped badly at Ffos Las. He goes there on Friday, and he has a lot in his favour. He is a horse who promises to be a much better chaser than hurdler but, as is often the case, after a fall it just knocks their confidence a bit.

Form profile

107 rated chaser. Finished runner-up, beaten three quarters of a length, to Art Deco in a handicap chase at Exeter (3m 6 1/2f) this month off a mark of 106.

Trainer says

He is a lovely horse, and he ran really well last time when we upped him in trip. He stayed well and was very genuine. He looks beaten at the last but then stayed on again. He is only a young horse for a stayer, and I can see him running well in all those regional Nationals in years to come.

Form profile

128 rated chaser. Finished runner-up, beaten two and a half lengths, to Colonel Harry in a Novices’ Handicap Chase at Chepstow in November 2023 off his current mark when last in action.

Trainer says

He had his first run since a setback, and he will run at Newbury on Saturday. He is a very talented chaser but was just wrong after running at Chepstow and has had a nice long break. We will just try and get the show back on the road at Newbury.

Form profile

86 rated hurdler. Left his previous form behind when scoring by eight lengths from Ghasham in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (2m 4f) in January off a mark of 75. Finished third, beaten five lengths, to Jackpot Cash in a similar event at Southwell (2m 4 1/2f) this month off his current mark.

Trainer says

He is a horse who found the going at Uttoxeter to his liking and everything else didn’t go a yard on it. They said it was a big gamble but that couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s just that modern way where if you have £20 on a horse the bookmakers think it is a gamble. It is actually distasteful, as you and I know there is no such thing these days as a gamble. He got beaten at Southwell next time and it just goes to show that what happen at Uttoxeter was one of the flukes of all time. He is a poor horse who will run in poor races.

Form profile

121 rated hurdler. Best effort this when runner-up, beaten four lengths, to Red Dirt Road at Aintree (2m 4f) on Boxing Day off a mark of 120. Never dangerous when only eighth, beaten 13 lengths, to Altobelli in a valuable handicap hurdle at Ascot (2m 3 1/2f) in February off a mark of 122.

Trainer says

He is a horse who runs over three miles at Doncaster on Saturday. I loved him last year and he ran very well at Aintree on Boxing Day. I was disappointed with him last time and the jockey told me to stop being a grumpy so and so. She said he ran a good race at Ascot last time and the step up in trip will help.

Form profile

89 rated chaser. Returned to winning form with a length and a half success from Lock Out in a novices’ handicap chase at Hereford (3m 1f) this month off a mark of 84.

Trainer says

He is just a moderate little fellow but great fun and jumps well. He runs today and has a good chance.

Form profile

114 rated hurdler. Has been placed in his three runs over hurdles and runner-up, beaten a length, to Royal Rambler in a maiden hurdle at Chepstow (2m 3 1/2f) this month.

Trainer says

He is a genuine young horse. We have done things out of the ordinary for him as he is a little bit hot and gets warm. He likes to get on with things but will win a little hurdle before his summer holiday. He is a smashing horse who has done nothing wrong at all.

Form profile

118 rated hurdler. Has improved out of recognition this season and gained her fifth win of the season when scoring by six and a half lengths from Barrabool in a mares’ novices’ hurdle at Taunton (2m 1/2f) this month off a mark of 116.

Trainer says

She has had the most incredible. We tried to get her into the Morebattle but she was balloted out and we will try to get her into Cheltenham. Really the race for her would be the Herring Gull Final at Kelso at the end of March. We wouldn’t rule out a visit to the Cheltenham Festival with her and she has been a credit to herself this year.

Form profile

Winner of two of his 30 starts and currently rated 94 over fences and 89 over hurdles. Finished third, beaten 15 lengths, to Casual Observer in a handicap hurdle at Ffos Las (2m 4f) this month off a mark of 91.

Trainer says

He hasn’t rekindled his form of a few seasons ago and he runs on Friday with a 10lb claimer on, Osian Radford a very hard-working lad in the yard. If he runs anywhere near his form, he goes there with a chance.
