Alan King Stable Tour

The master of Barbury Castle's team is headed by big-race stalwarts Edwardstone, Major Dundee and Sceau Royal and includes plenty of exciting youngsters.

Alan King is now renowned as an established dual-purpose trainer, but his first love was the Jumping game and his enthusiasm remains undiminished with 50 winners and prize money of £911,546 in 2022-23 telling its own story.

The remarkable Sceau Royal who has won 16 races and over £700,000 in prize money is back for another season and steps up to two and a half miles at Ascot on Saturday with his wellbeing assured.

The top-class two-mile chaser Edwardstone ran a solid race behind Jonbon at the weekend and will soon have his turn and Major Dundee, who landed a sizeable pot when successful in the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter in March, will be another looking to make it a lucrative season for the Barbary Castle trainer after his recent pipe-opener at Warwick.

Favour And Fortune could be anything after another exemplary performance at Wetherby whilst Helnwein looked a useful recruit to hurdling when making a success start at Warwick and looks set for further success. There is plenty of untapped talent from the Irish point-to-point and bumper field that promise more exciting days ahead for King.

Alan kindly talked to Tony Elves of attheraces.com about some of his best prospects for the season ahead.
