Pilu got back on the winning trail at Newmarket and is just 2lb higher. He warrants plenty of respect, but the one who appeals most is KODI LION. The Kodi Bear gelding justified favouritism in comfortable fashion at Haydock and even an 8lb rise might underestimate the manner of that success. Kempton second Art Lover and previous C&D victor Midnight Thunder are others to watch out for.
Pilu showed a good attitude when returning to winning ways at Newmarket, capitalising on the drop into a Class 4, but he's back up in grade now and needs more for the follow up. Fellow 3yo Art Lover ran to his best when runner-up at Kempton last time and must have claims also returning to turf, but it's MIDNIGHT THUNDER who is the selection. The Godolphin-owned runner is a former C&D winner and, having missed nearly all of 2025, he's returned to with two sound efforts, including when runner-up at Thirsk last time. He can go one better here.
