Given how open this race appears to be, only a tentative vote can go to FANDOM. Richard Hannon's gelding failed to fire in the Stewards' Cup over C&D but bounced right back to form when third off a 1lb higher mark at Ascot last time. Rapper's Delight was not beaten far despite finishing eighth here most recently and that followed two narrow seconds in July. Havana Hurricane's latest effort can easily be forgiven and is now on mark off which he could be dangerous, while Fast Track Harry and Purosangue complete the shortlist.
FLASH HARRY won this race 12 months ago and is now 1lb below the mark he scored from, having steadily fallen down the weights since. He has shaped reasonably fair in equally as strong company this season and, potentially targeted at a repeat bid, could be ready to strike again. Rapper's Delight was beaten only two and a quarter lengths here over the minimal trip last time and remains on a competitive mark, so could go well back ay 6f, while Strike Red arrives in good form after landing the Scottish Stewards' Cup at Hamilton and should remain competitive despite a 3lb rise.
