Nicky Richards Stable Tour

Form profile

Winner of one of her 5 starts and currently rated 116 over hurdles. Pulled up two out when favourite for a Grade 2 Mares’ Novices’ Limited Handicap at Newbury (2m 4 1/2f) in March off her current mark. Had previously impressed when hacking up by 23 lengths from Western Jill in a mares’ novices’ hurdle at Sedgefield (2m 4f) in February.

Trainer says

Aubis Walk is a nice filly. She could have had a bit smoother run through the season and I sure she could have won another couple of races. She won one and she is about ready to run. I may run her over fences at Newcastle on Thursday and I would hope she has a nice season over fences. Two and a half miles appears to be her trip, but she will probably get three miles. Around Carlisle or somewhere she might even drop to two miles if it was the right race for her.

Form profile

Winner of three of his 13 starts and currently rated 128 over fences and 127 over hurdles. Placed in three of his four completed starts last season and came closest to victory when runner-up, beaten two and a quarter lengths, to Miah Grace in a handicap hurdle at Newcastle (2m 4 1/2f) in March off a mark of 128.

Trainer says

He is a nice horse, Castle Rushen, and he just had a bit of a setback. We are back riding him now and moving forward. I hope he has a good season, he didn’t just take to fences last year somehow. We will try him again chasing and, hopefully, he will make up for lost time.

Form profile

Winner of a bumper at Hexham in March when beating Fox’s Fancy two lengths. Finished fourth, beaten 18 ½ lengths, to Great Pepper in a maiden hurdle at Hexham (2m 4f) this month.

Trainer says

He was second in his point–to-point in Ireland and then won his bumper at Hexham. We were fairly disappointed with him over hurdles the other day at Hexham, but the ground was absolutely terrible - rotten really tacky heavy ground. We are putting it down to that and we think he will handle heavy ground, but he just couldn’t handle that the other day. You can out a line through that effort.

Form profile

Winner of one of his 6 starts and currently rated 97 over hurdles. Off the mark in a novices’ handicap hurdle at Carlisle (2m 3 1/2f) in March when short heading Imperial Alex off a mark of 95.

Trainer says

He is a nice-looking horse and is ready to go chasing now. He is entered for Market Rasen on Thursday. Everything has gone right with the schooling, and he looks great.

Form profile

Winner of two of his 5 starts. Made a winning debut over hurdles at Kelso (2m) in October when short heading Flash Du Pistolet a short head.

Trainer says

He won at Kelso last month, but he was in quite a good race at Wetherby on Saturday and found it just a bit too tough. He jumped well at Kelso, and we will look for an easier opportunity for him.

Form profile

Winner of three of his 7 starts and currently rated 138 over fences. Highly impressive on his chasing debut at Hexham (3m) when beating Rapid Flight 20 lengths but pulled up in his only other start in a novices’ handicap chase at Haydock (3m 1 1/2f) won by Iron Bridge.

Trainer says

He was a very good horse last year, but we have had a little bit of a setback at Haydock last year. I’m not quite sure if we will get him back this time but his rehabilitation, touch wood, is going well at the moment. We might get him back but I’m not entirely sure.

Form profile

Winner of four of his 12 starts and currently rated 128 over fences. Finished fourth, beaten three quarters of a length, to Whodini in a handicap chase at Ayr (2m 4 1/2f) this month off his current mark.

Trainer says

He is a grand horse, and he was fairly progressive last year. I had to take him out of the Scottish National because of the fast ground. He ran a grand race up at Ayr recently and he finish fourth beaten only three quarters of a length. He wants three miles and probably plus and handles soft ground. I hope he has a good winter and ee have half mentioned the Rehearsal with him at Newcastle. Hopefully he will be in all those nice handicap chases, and I would be hopeful he would win one or two of them

Form profile

Winner of four of his 11 starts and currently rated 119 over fences and 122 over hurdles. Pulled up on his chasing bow in a novices’ handicap chase at Sedgefield (2m 3 1/2f) this month off a mark of 122. Returned to winning form in a novices’ handicap chase at Wetherby (1m 7f) on Saturday when beating Inedit Star a length.

Trainer says

He is a horse with plenty of ability and he had been acting the monkey at the gate, but he was much better at Wetherby on Saturday. We put the earplugs on him, and he was much more settled in the preliminaries and he was very determined in the finish. Hopefully, this was a turning point for him, and he can progress further.

Form profile

Winner of both of his bumpers scoring by two and a half lengths from Act Of Authority at Musselburgh in January and following up with a length and a half success from Blizzard Of Oz in a Grade 2 event at Aintree in April. Finished third, beaten six and three quarter lengths, to Primoz in a novices’ hurdle at Ayr (2m) this month.

Trainer says

We were a little bit disappointed with him up at Ayr and he ran a little bit free. I think the winner had a bit of a freebie up front and it was a false run race. Hopefully, we can put a line through that and it is upwards and onwards with him.

Form profile

Winner of eight of his 24 starts and currently rated 135 over hurdles. Has returned to winning form with a vengeance this season and was scoring for the third time in handicap hurdles when beating Noble Birth three quarters of a length at Ayr (3m 1/2f) this month off a mark of 131.

Trainer says

Glinger Flame is a grand horse. He is probably ground orientated, and he needs good ground. He has had a good time of it and won three times this time. He has been plagued with injuries, but we have had a good run with him lately and he is in a good place with himself. I don’t know where I will run him next as it’s wet at the moment. If I could get the ground, I wouldn’t be averse to running him in a Pertemps Qualifier. He is not the youngest horse in the world, but he is as good as form as he’s ever been.

Form profile

Winner of five of his 14 starts and currently rated 126 over fences. Made a winning reappearance in a handicap chase at Carlisle (3m 2f) this month when beating Wasdell Dundalk three and a quarter lengths off a mark of 119.

Trainer says

He is in good order as we all saw at Carlisle on his reappearance this month. He ran a grand race and that was a good starting point. I have put him in the Becher Chase at Aintree, and he needs two to come out to get close to the bottom weights. I wouldn’t run him a mile out of the handicap or anything but that is what we are thinking of at the moment.

Form profile

Unraced

Trainer says

He might run this side of Christmas and he is a nice horse. I might give him a run in a bumper and, hopefully, he will put up a bold show.

Form profile

Unraced

Trainer says

I think he is a nice horse, but he is quite backward and probably won’t run this side of Christmas. I would imagine he will run in a bumper somewhere.

Form profile

Winner of a bumper at Doncaster in March when beating Crystal Mer two lengths and runner-up in similar company on either side of that success. Beaten only half a length by Bumble Bee Bet at Ayr on his final start in April.

Trainer says

Unfortunately, you might not see him until the spring as he had a little setback about a fortnight ago. Hopefully, things might go the right way and continue that way. I think he is a pretty decent horse, and he will make his mark when he reappears.

Form profile

Winner of five of his 17 starts and currently rated 126 over fences. Placed in three of his five starts last season and came closest to victory when runner-up, beaten a neck, to Dubai Days in a handicap chase at Carlisle (2m 4f) in March off a mark of 125.

Trainer says

He is a grand big horse of Mr Hemmings’. He ran consistently well last year without getting his head in front and I thought he would win at Ayr the other day and it was abandoned. We are just scratching out head where to run him now and I imagine it could be a Haydock on Betfair Chase Day. Hopefully, he will have a good season.

Form profile

Winner of five of his 16 starts and currently rated 135 over fences and 130 over hurdles. Made a winning reappearance in a novices’ handicap chase at Carlisle (2m) in October when beating Glory And Honour three and a quarter lengths, off a mark of 130.

Trainer says

He had a good start to the season at Carlisle and won fairly well and I was very disappointed that racing was off a Carlisle on Monday. It’s not often you get a 6-4 favourite in a £50k race but hopefully he will be in that sort of race during the season. He seemed to find the going a little tough when third to Findthetime at Wetherby on Saturday, but he will win more races.

Form profile

Winner of four of his 22 starts and currently rated 112 over fences. Finished runner-up, beaten a neck, to Gentleman De Main in a novices’ handicap chase at Kelso (2m 7 1/2f) this month off a mark of 110.

Trainer says

He was narrowly beaten at Kelso this month and he is a good consistent horse. He will carry on running nice races and, hopefully, win his share.

Form profile

Winner of three of his 15 starts and currently rated 127 over fences. Finished runner-up, beaten two and a quarter lengths, to Marble Sands in a novices’ handicap chase at Ayr (2m 1/2f) this month off a mark of 126.

Trainer says

He is a little similar to No Regrets and had his first chase the other day at Ayr. It was probably a very competitive novice handicap and he ran a very good race and just got a little bit tired between the last two. He was just run out of it and can, hopefully, go one better soon.

Form profile

Placed in two of his 3 bumpers last season. Finished third, beaten six and a quarter lengths, to Boldog in a bumper at Hexham latest in April.

Trainer says

He ran three nice bumper runs and he was probably improving with each run he had. I think he is a nice staying prospect and no doubt he will win a couple of hurdle race before he goes chasing next season.

Form profile

Unraced

Trainer says

He is a big horse by Mount Nelson, and he is a bit of a backward fellow but he does everything nicely. We may just go straight over hurdles with him, but he is a nice horse for the future. He is definitely a chaser in the long run.

Form profile

Winner of two of his 4 starts. Placed in both of his hurdles when last seen out in 2021-22. Finished third, beaten six and a quarter lengths to Lebowski on his last racecourse performance in a novices’ hurdle at Ayr (2m) in November 2021.

Trainer says

He is coming back of a bit of a break now, but he was a fairly useful bumper horse. He was placed in both of his hurdles before he had a little injury but if he stays injury free, he will have a good season.

Form profile

Winner of four of his 6 starts and currently rated 128 over hurdles. Finished runner-up, beaten a length and a quarter, to Platinumcard in a handicap hurdle at Ayr (2m) off a mark of 124 in April of last year.

Trainer says

He is on his way back and is ready to run anytime. He was showing a lot of promise when he ended up with a little injury coming from Ayr, but his schooling has gone good and he is ready to go in a novice handicap chase. Hopefully, he is a grand horse

Form profile

Winner of one of his 6 starts and currently rated 114 over fences. Finished fourth, beaten three and a quarter lengths, to Dalyotin in a handicap chase at Carlisle (2m 4f) in April off his current mark when last seen out.

Trainer says

He is just back in work now and he had a slight injury after his last run. It will be January before he is back but, hopefully, he will have a good second half of the season.

Form profile

Placed in two of his 3 bumpers last season and finished third, beaten seven and a quarter lengths, to Belle Of Annandale on his hurdling debut at Musselburgh (1m 7 1/2f) this month.

Trainer says

He ran a couple of good races in his bumpers last season, and we took him up to Musselburgh recently for his hurdling debut. It might not just have been his track, and he probably wants two and a half miles around there, but he was staying on all up the straight. He ran a nice race and finished third and, hopefully, he will have a nice season.

Form profile

Winner of six of his 25 starts and currently rated 124 over fences. Completed a hat trick in novices’ handicap chases when beating Overcourt a length and three quarters at Hexham (2m 4f) in October off a mark of 120. Finished runner-up, beaten only two and three quarter lengths, to Giovinco in a similar event at Aintree (3m 1f) this month off his current mark.

Trainer says

He is very consistent and has already won three this time and ran grand race at Aintree recently when finishing second to Giovinco who is a fairly useful horse. Our lad is a grand horse and I think he will stay well, and I might try him at the marathon distance at some stage.

Form profile

Finished sixth, beaten 17 lengths, to Old Gregorian on his hurdling debut at Kelso (2m) in October.

Trainer says

He is just a big backward baby who ran ok at Kelso. The penny was just dropping after the third last and he was staying on and doing his best work at the finish. Hopefully, he will keep improving and he will definitely make a grand chaser at some stage. I might try him again at two miles and this lad shows a bit more speed than it looks.

Form profile

Unraced.

Trainer says

He is a grand horse - a backward horse - but a fortnight from running and he will probably need the race.
