Nick Alexander Stable Tour

Form profile

No wins from 11 starts and currently rated 102 over hurdles. Finished runner-up, beaten two lengths, to Bullion Boss on his last run in a handicap hurdle at Musselburgh (3m) on New Year's Day.

Trainer says

He has finished runner-up in his last two starts and is ready to win a race when we can find the right one. He is entered at Musselburgh on Sunday and I am not sure whether he will run as it's a drop back in trip and I am not sure that's what he wants. We may go to Sedgefield next Wednesday and he might run in that.

Form profile

Winner of one of his 8 starts and currently rated 107 over hurdles. Off the mark with a three and a half length success from Arnica in a novices' handicap hurdle at Kelso (2m 6 1/2f) in December off a mark of 96.

Trainer says

"He is a horse we bought off Trevor Hemmings nearly a year ago and he is a home bred of theirs. He was very backward to start with, but the penny has dropped this season. He was a very good third first time out then won at Kelso and then we dropped back in trip at Musselburgh and he finished a good third, but the track and the trip was too sharp for him. He is probably going to go back for Kelso on February 19 over his winning course and distance. I would expect him to run well again

Form profile

No wins from 3 starts. Pulled up in a novices’ hurdle at Doncaster (2m 1/2f) in January.

Trainer says

He was second in a bumper before he came to us and he had a run at Doncaster, but the ground would have been far too soft for him. Once he gets going over hurdles there be plenty to come from him.

Form profile

Winner of one of his 4 starts and currently rated 108 over hurdles. Runner-up both starts over hurdles this season and disappointing odds-on shot when beaten eight lengths by Lady Villanelle at Hexham (2m) in November.

Trainer says

He had a bit of a setback after disappointing when heavily odds-on at Hexham on his second start over hurdles. An issue came to light and he has had an easy time but is back in work now and should be a lovely horse in the spring especially when he steps up in trip. He is a better horse than he has shown so far over hurdles.

Form profile

7 b g Milan - Greenhall Rambler Winner of one of his 7 starts and currently rated 93. Off the mark when beating Bullion Boss a length and three quarters in a novices’ handicap hurdle at Musselburgh in January off a mark of 91.

Trainer says

He won nicely at Musselburgh last time and the penny seems to have dropped. He won't be over raced this season and is a chaser in the making so will probably only have a couple of more runs over hurdles and go novice chasing in the autumn

Form profile

Winner of eight of his 44 starts and currently rated 119 over fences and hurdles. Winner of his first two races at Ayr (2m 4 1/2f) this season beating Cavalry Scout 14 lengths of a mark of 112 in a handicap chase in October and following up with a neck defeat of Doyen Breed in a handicap hurdle in November off a mark of 116.

Trainer says

He has done very well, and he is owned and ridden by my son who is an amateur. He is not allowed to ride at the moment so Calvigny is on the walker and out of training. He did win one of those Northern Lights Finals at Carlisle two years ago and he is qualified for the final this year so what we will probably do is get him back next week and hope that amateurs are allowed to ride by the end of March.

Form profile

Winner of one of her 6 starts and currently rated 105 over fences. Off the mark on her reappearance in a novices’ handicap chase at Kelso (2m 7 1/2f) in October when beating Don't Need To Know a length and three quarters off a mark of 100.

Trainer says

She won impressively first time out this season at Kelso then was only fourth at Musselburgh last week and I don't think the track suited her. She is much more a big strong galloping mare who needs a Kelso or a Newcastle or something like that. I think she could go to Wetherby on February 23

Form profile

No wins from 5 starts and currently rated 104. Finished runner-up, beaten six and a half lengths, to Timeless Beauty in a mares’ handicap hurdle at Ayr (2m 5 1/2f) in January off a mark of 102.

Trainer says

She ran a great race on her handicap debut at Ayr and was beaten by a well handicapped horse from Lambourn. We might even run her in a three-mile mares’ novices’ hurdle at Catterick on February 15 or she might stay in the handicaps.

Form profile

Winner of 10 of his 34 races and currently rated 135 over fences. Returned to winning form on his latest start in a handicap chase at Aintree (2m 4f) in December when beating Dashing Perk two and a half lengths off a mark of 127.

Trainer says

which he finished second last year to Nuts Well last year. The winner has won the Old Roan at Aintree this year and his form looks pretty good now. He is another horse who likes deep ground and conditions should be perfect for him in what looks a competitive race.

Form profile

Winner of two of his 33 starts and currently rated 113 over fences. Best effort this term when runner-up, beaten three quarters of a length, to Ard Chros in a handicap chase at Carlisle (2m 4f) in November off his current mark.

Trainer says

He is a bit of an odd horse as he sometimes refuses to race. We have put him away and given him a break and the plan is to run him in the Northern Lights Final at Carlisle at the end of March.

Form profile

from Xpo Universel in a handicap hurdle at Newcastle (2m) in December off a mark of 101.

Trainer says

He is another we bought off Trevor Hemmings and he won well at Newcastle two starts ago. He went back there and ran in a Jumpers’ Bumper, but it was run far too slowly for him. The plan is to go for a two-mile race on February 23. Hopefully, things might have dried out a little bit by then.

Form profile

Winner of three of his 21 starts and currently rated 98. Has won his last two starts in handicap chases at Musselburgh (3m) and scored by a nose from Oscar Ceremony on his latest start on New Year's Day off a mark of 94.

Trainer says

He is entered at Musselburgh on Saturday and Sunday and has won there the last two times. Three miles around there suits him, and he put up a career best last time. That's what he has got on Sunday and he would run there then unless it looked like it would be off and then he would run in the two mile six Veteran's Chase on Saturday.

Form profile

Winner of two of his 10 starts and currently rated 122 over hurdles. Finished fifth, beaten 34 lengths,to Chti Balko in a handicap hurdle at Haydock (1m 7 1/2f) in December off a mark of 126.

Trainer says

He is a good bumper and novices’ hurdle winner who hasn't had things go his way yet this season but now looks nicely treated and conditions should be perfect for him at Wetherby on Saturday where he is due to run.

Form profile

Winner of five of his 13 starts and currently rated 143 over fences. Made a winning reappearance in a novices' handicap chase at Ayr (2m 1/2f) in November when beating Seemorelights two lengths off a mark of 137.

Trainer says

run on this deep ground. The only race we could have run him was against Shishkin at Doncaster which would have been humiliating I suspect. There is a nice open novices’ handicap chase over two miles at Kelso on February 19 and that is the plan for him. He has, hopefully, got a lot more to offer over fences now.

Form profile

Winner of one of his 2 starts. Off the mark with a five and a half length success from Ahoy Senor in a bumper at Ayr last month.

Trainer says

"He is a lovely horse, and he won a nice bumper well on his second start. We are probably going to go over hurdles, but the weather is frustrating our attempts to school over hurdles - we've had one day in 2021. He is a good jumper and a three-mile chaser in the making and a very nice young horse to have in the yard.

Form profile

Winner of one of her 12 starts and currently rated 107 over fences. Finished runner-up, beaten a length and three quarters, to Empire De Maulde in a novices' handicap chase at Kelso (2m 6 1/2f) in December off her current mark.

Trainer says

She runs at Catterick on Friday in a three mile mares chase (0-130) off bottomweight but it 's the perfect race for and I hope she will run well. She has been placed second in her last two starts and deserves to get her head in front.

Form profile

Winner of nine of his 25 starts and currently rated 162 over fences. Put up a career best performance on his reappearance in the Grade 2 Many Clouds Chase at Aintree (3m 1f) in December when beating Santini by a length.

Trainer says

He was meant to go to Cheltenham last Saturday for the Cotswold Chase but the plan is to go for that rearranged race at Sandown on Saturday and he has a backup entry in the Cleeve Hurdle at Wetherby should Sandown be off. We are really hoping he will run a big race as he loves soft ground and this is his time really. Let's hope that he can prove that Aintree wasn't a fluke. Last season was a disaster for him one way or another and he had a few things go wrong and he was still struggling this autumn and had an operation at the end of October. For him to come out five weeks later and win that race was a major achievement - we thought he would need the run. We were hoping the Cotswold would have been at Cheltenham as that would have given us a better guide to the Gold Cup and I hope he will run well around Sandown, but it is a very different test. If he ran very well, we would have to consider the Gold Cup and if he doesn't then he would probably go to Kelso on the first Saturday in March and then the Grand National.

Form profile

Winner of five of his 35 starts and currently rated 107 over fences. Finished eighth, beaten 26 lengths, to Charlie Snow Angel in a handicap chase at Kelso (3m 2f) at the end of December off his current mark.

Trainer says

He is in at Catterick on Friday and he might run. He's been a bit headstrong in his last two starts so we've tried a few things at home. He has won his share races and he should win more as when he wins, he wins with a ton in hand and then next time he runs he tears off and runs out of steam.

Form profile

Winner of two of his 15 starts and currently rated 93 over fences. Finished runner-up, beaten 11 lengths, to Shallow Run in a handicap chase at Musselburgh (2m 4 1/2f) in January off his current mark.

Trainer says

He has been knocking on the door at Musselburgh and he's had three runs over fences and finish third and runner-up twice. He was a bit moody the last time and just ran in snatches and could have done with a set of blinkers. Quite a few Scorpions improver for a set of headgear and we will be doing our very best to win with him next time out.

Form profile

Scored by a neck from Highstakesplayer in bumper at Ayr in November.

Trainer says

He won a bumper very nicely on his debut at Ayr on ground that would have been too heavy for him. He will be better on better ground and he is a very nice young horse who has just turned five and doesn't want much racing this year. He is ready to run again but we are being patient and waiting for the ground to dry out and hopefully he could have a good chance in a bumper with a penalty. He will stay in bumpers this season.

Form profile

Winner of three of his 17 starts and currently rated 125 over fences. Finished second, beaten a length, to Strong Economy in a handicap chase at Ayr (3m) in December off a mark of 119.

Trainer says

He is entered at Wetherby on Saturday in the same race as Clan Legend but is an unlikely runner as I wouldn't really like to run the pair of them in the same race and it would be quite a drop back in trip for him. There is a nice race for him at Kelso on February 19 and if by any chance the hurdles are abandoned, and they put on some extra chases at Sandown, we would be certainly looking for a race for him there.

Form profile

Finished eighth, beaten 34 lengths, to Fruit N Nut in a bumper at Musselburgh in January.

Trainer says

He ran in a bumper at Musselburgh and we have given him a little wind operation. He is back in work and should have plenty to offer over hurdles.

Form profile

Winner of one of his 10 starts and currently rated 103 over hurdles. Finished runner-up, beaten six lengths, to Barnay in a handicap hurdle at Musselburgh (2m 4f) in December off his current mark.

Trainer says

He has had a little setback when finishing second in his last run at Musselburgh and is right now. He should prove a nice three miler on spring ground and could prove well handicapped.
