Dan Skelton Stable Tour

Form profile

Third in his bumper at Market Rasen in February and finished fourth, beaten seven and a quarter lengths, to Chazza on his hurdling bow at Bangor (2m 1/2f) in September.

Trainer says

He made his debut over hurdles the other day at Bangor and just got tired going to the last. I think he will improve a lot and is one to keep on the right side of.

Form profile

147 rated hurdler. Won his first three races over hurdles in great style culminating in a nine-length win from Cerberus in the Grade 1 Finale Juvenile Hurdle at Chepstow (2m) in December before finishing a creditable third to Burning Victory in the Grade 1 JCB Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham (2m 1f) in March.

Trainer says

He was great last year, and I don’t think we would have beaten Goshen in the Triumph if he hadn’t fallen but at Cheltenham, he was just a little flat. Time will tell but all is well with him at the moment. Four-year-olds sometimes find it hard to train on, but we won’t know if he has until they run. He will start four-year-old only at Cheltenham in October and we will take it from there with him.

Form profile

149 rated chaser. Winner of the Sir Peter O’Sullevan Memorial Handicap Chase at Newbury (2m 6 1/2f) last November.

Trainer says

He was a great horse for us last season and won at the Ladbrokes Trophy meeting at Newbury. At the moment I am looking at having one run with him and then going for the Grand Sefton at Aintree. He doesn’t quite get three miles, but he is very good just short of three miles. He likes a bit of soft ground.

Form profile

137 rated hurdler. Missed last season but won all three races in Spring of 2018-19 season. Successful in handicap hurdles at Uttoxeter (2m 7 1/2f), Aintree (3m 1/2f) and Warwick (3m 1f).

Trainer says

She is a good mare to go novice chasing with and could be tidy sort. I would be a follower of hers over fences to be sure. I don’t know when she will start but we will see how we go.

Form profile

149 rated chaser. Didn’t run for Philip Kirby when trained by him last season and previously a winner of the Grade 3 Becher Handicap Chaser when with Nigel Twiston-Davies.

Trainer says

He is obviously a new horse to us, and he is a veteran. I am going to take a big punt and assume all the old ability is there but it looks like it is at home, but I don’t really know him. He looks well for me and he could start in the Charlie Hall.

Form profile

149 rated chaser. Ran well under topweight when fourth to Guitar Pete on his reappearance in a listed chase at Wetherby (2m 3 1/2f) last November and creditable effort when occupying the same position to Top Notch in the Grade 2 Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon (2m 4f) in December and a Grade 2 event at Kempton (2m 4 1/2f) won by Frodon.

Trainer says

He ran well in three races without winning last season and he will start in the same race at Wetherby at the Charlie Hall meeting in which he finished fourth last year. The aim is to go for the Topham Chase with him.

Form profile

134 rated hurdler. Winner three times over hurdles last season and promising start over fences at Uttoxeter on Sunday when third, beaten seven and a quarter lengths, to Hurricane Harvey.

Trainer says

He is another who should so well novice chasing. He started at Uttoxeter on Sunday and was a little bit novicey, but I think he will be a better chaser than he was a hurdler.

Form profile

Placed in both of his bumpers at Newbury in November and Warwick in February.

Trainer says

He was placed in both his bumpers last season and I think he will make a much better hurdler. I will start at two miles with him, but he will get two and a half.

Form profile

142 rated chaser. Return to winning form in devastating style when beating Worthy Farm 54 lengths in the Grimthorpe Chase at Doncaster (3m 2f) in February.

Trainer says

He won the Grimthorpe Chase at Doncaster last year and he will go for all those types over races over three miles two furlongs and upwards. He has been second in two Rehearsal Chase and has been a good horse – I don’t think we are done with him yet.

Form profile

155 rated hurdler. Best effort last season when third, beaten three quarters of a length, to Song For Someone in the Kingwell Hurdle at Kempton (2m) in February.

Trainer says

He has been great horse for us, and I will probably start him at Aintree on November 7th in a conditions hurdle over two and a half miles. We will then look at things like the Relkeel Hurdle and he has always been very competitive in those races. Hopefully, we can pick one of them up.

Form profile

Winner of bumpers at Bangor and Huntingdon last spring and finished runner-up, beaten three lengths, to Cormier on his hurdling debut at Uttoxeter (2m) on Sunday.

Trainer says

He started his hurdling career at Uttoxeter last weekend and ran well enough to finish second, but I think he is a tidy horse and there will be much better to come from him.

Form profile

138 hurdler. Only win in three starts last season was on reappearance in the Grade 3 Silver Trophy at Chepstow (2m 3 1/2f) in October when beating Champagne Court two lengths.

Trainer says

He won the Silver Trophy last year and that would be his main aim again.

Form profile

145 rated chaser. Gained his last success in a handicap chase at Southwell (2m) in July when beating Croco Bay a length and a quarter.

Trainer says

He has got his act together now and has just improved and improved. We will look at the Haldon Gold Cup with him.

Form profile

136 rated hurdler. Winner of a maiden hurdle at Ludlow (2m) last October and followed up in a listed contest at Wetherby (2m) the following month.

Trainer says

He is a good four-year-old from last year and he won a listed race and ran well when sixth in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham. I would like to think he can train on and also that he can take up a step up in trip at some stage.

Form profile

147 rated chaser. Winner of his three novice chases this season – successful at Stratford (2m) in July, Uttoxeter (2m 1f) in August and again at Uttoxeter (2m 4f) in September.

Trainer says

He has been remarkable and is an incredible horse who just keeps winning (winner of 10 of his 13 career starts) and if the ground isn’t too bad he will go to Chepstow for a listed race and if the ground is too soft then we will wait.

Form profile

Placed in bumpers at Worcester and Wetherby last season and made a successful start over hurdles at Uttoxeter on Sunday when beating the odds-on Shantou Express a length and a half.

Trainer says

He’s a nice horse who was placed in two bumpers and made the perfect start to his hurdling career at Uttoxeter on Sunday. We were pleasantly surprised by his success from the heavily odds-on Shantou Express and he can only improve for the experience.

Form profile

141 rated hurdler. Had his finest hour when landing the 2018 County Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham (2m 1f) in March 2018 and one of his better effort last season in the same race when 10th to Saint Roi.

Trainer says

He didn’t win last year but he has been a fabulous horse over the years, and I do hope that stepping up in trip this year there might be another one in him. He is back to a reasonable mark off 141.

Form profile

134 rated hurdler. Winner three times in novice events last season and ended his campaign with a 19-length win from Chazza at Hereford (2m 3 1/2f) in March.

Trainer says

He ended up winning three over hurdles last season and he has improved a lot over the summer. I think he will take high rank in the novice chasing division.

Form profile

138 rated chaser. Made a successful return to action over fences in a novice chase at Perth (2m 4f) last week when beating Carrolls Milan a length and a half.

Trainer says

Not That Fuisse won at Perth last week and is a big improver this year by the look of things. He will probably go to the Cheltenham October meeting and the Wincanton Rising Stars would be an option as well. We will keep him on some nice ground as he won’t be running in December and January.

Form profile

152 rated chaser. Winner of his first two races over fences at Warwick and Fakenham in October of last year and subsequently finished runner-up to both Esprit Du Large in the Grade 1 Henry VIII Novices Chase at Sandown in December and to Rouge Vif in the Grade 2 Kingmaker at Warwick in February.

Trainer says

He was a good two-mile novice chaser last year and he never got a chance to run at Aintree which was a shame as that’s where we were heading. He will be out a bit later this season and I can see him starting at Kempton the day after Boxing Day and then we will take it from there. Hopefully, as a second season chaser he has a bit more improvement in him and if we get him on good ground, I think he could be even better.

Form profile

147 rated chaser. Successful twice last season beating Kalashnikov a nose in a valuable handicap at Newbury (2m 4 1/2f) in November and following up with a nose success from Saint Calvados in the Grade 3 Paddy Power Handicap Chase at Cheltenham (2m 4 1/2f) in January.

Trainer says

He won two last year – winning at the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury in November and the Paddy Power Handicap Chase at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day. He will be put to the test in all those sort of races again this season and he will start in the Old Roan at Aintree.

Form profile

125 rated hurdler. Runner-up in both starts over hurdles most recently being beaten two and a half lengths by Blazer’s Mill in a novice event at Perth (2m) in September.

Trainer says

He has been second in his two hurdles and hadn’t run for a long time when making his most recent reappearance. I think he will step forward from that and I think he could be a horse who could prove progressive. I would recommend following him.

Form profile

143 rated hurdler. Came good in a Listed novices’ hurdle at Cheltenham (2m 4 1/2f) on New Year’s Day when beating Imperial Alacazar a head.

Trainer says

He was a good horse last year and won a listed hurdle. I have been dying to go chasing with him and two and half miles, he will get three now he is stronger, over fences to start with and we will go from there.

Form profile

151 rated hurdler. Came closest to victory last season on her reappearance in a conditions hurdle at Aintree (2m 4f) in November when runner-up, beaten a neck, to Top Notch.

Trainer says

As long as the ground is safe, she will start in the West Yorkshire Hurdle at Wetherby at the Charlie Hall meeting. She hasn’t got a Grade 1 penalty to carry this year and I think that will make her very interesting.

Form profile

139 rated hurdler. Winner of a maiden hurdle at Southwell (1m 7 1/2f) in December and ran well afterwards including when sixth to Envoi Allen in the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham (2m 5f) in March.

Trainer says

He is another like Protekorat that I have been dying to go chasing with. He starts at Wetherby on October 14th if the ground is suitable and I can see him improving over fences.

Form profile

148 rated chaser. Finished runner-up, beaten a head, to Warthog in the Grade 3 Caspian Caviar Gold Cup at Cheltenham (2m 4 1/2f) in December and runner-up again, beaten half a length to Cepage in another Grade 3 handicap chase over that course and distance in January.

Trainer says

He was placed in all the big handicap chases and I hope one can come his way. He is effective over two and a half miles and I think three miles will be beyond him. I think he can, and he deserves to win a big handicap.

Form profile

Winner of bumpers at Market Rasen in December and Huntingdon in January and ran a highly creditable race when fourth in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham.

Trainer says

He was fourth in the Champion bumper and is obviously talented. He could start off at Uttoxeter on October 15th.

Form profile

139 rated hurdler. Won two novices’ hurdles at Huntingdon (2m) in December and January.

Trainer says

He won two for us over hurdles last season and was second in the Dovecote. He is a good horse to go chasing with and he starts over fences at Market Rasen on October 17th. Again, like Shan Blue you may not have heard great things about him over hurdles, but fences will be the making of him.

Form profile

Second in her only point-to-point in Ireland last November.

Trainer says

She is a nice young mare and she will make a nice staying mare over hurdles.

Form profile

Winner of a bumper at Warwick in December and subsequently good fourth in a listed bumper at Newbury in February.

Trainer says

He is another talented bumper horse and if they have two divisions of the novice hurdle at Uttoxeter on October 15th he could start as well at Third Time Lucki.
