BEST RATE won twice in the space of a week at Ascot and Pontefract and Richard Hannon's charge may prove tough to oppose in his current vein of form, despite an 8lb rise. He was more impressive on the latter occasion and is expected to be too strong for Happy Banner, who has been running with credit all season, and Jungle Ruler.

This can be dominated by the pair at the top of the weights. Farasi Lane remains on a winning mark despite a small rise for his latest victory but it is BEST RATE who is preferred. The form of his latest win has been boosted so he is chosen to defy a further 8lb rise and complete the hat trick. The consistent but frustrating Happy Banner can do best of the rest.
