It is very hard to oppose WATER TO WINE after he justified strong market support to win easily on his debut at Newbury. The son of Kingman looks to have a very bright future and he can take this race on his way to bigger targets. Humphrey is half-brother to Gregory and Lionel so he should not be discounted, despite his lack of experience. Tripoli Flyer ran well over hurdles when last seen and completes the shortlist.
This should go to WATER TO WINE, who made quite an impressive winning debut at Newbury and was briefly being considered for the Derby. It'll be the King Edward VII at Royal Ascot where he heads instead with a win today and it looks notable that he's been given an entry in the Arc at the end of the season. Stablemate Humphrey could easily earn a place on debut and, along with fellow newcomer White Storm, a relation of Group 1 scorer White Birch, is the one most likely to follow the selection home.
