Verdict

This looks a warm novice and Gavriel looks the obvious place to start as he won over C&D last August when showing a good turn of foot after not getting the clearest of passages. Najidi Storm is a newcomer to watch out for and Black Chiffon was a ready winner of a Salisbury maiden last autumn. KAINDY gets a tentative vote, though, as his form at Newcastle behind We're Goosers reads well and he's entitled to improve now tackling 1m for the first time.

GAVRIEL showed the benefit of debut experience when narrowly scoring in a novice over C&D last time and, despite having not been since that success last August, looks open to further improvement for John and Thady Gosden. Kaindy stepped forward from his debut when runner-up at Newcastle and, with this longer trip likely to suit, can continue to progress for Roger Varian. Black Chiffon made a professional winning debut over 7f at Salisbury and, with the mile expected to bring further improvement, is another with plenty more to offer for the ever-reliable Murphy and Balding partnership.
