SARGENT DENNIS is progressive and might be able to take the necessary step forward here to make it back-to-back wins. He improved between runs in maiden/novice company and gained the success he deserved at Windsor over this distance. An opening mark of 74 looks workable and Jack Channon's charge gets a confident vote ahead of Polka Blue and Grasmere Boy.

A few potential improvers here including GRASMERE BOY, who has progressed with each run and got off the mark with something to spare at Ripon last time. He almost certainly has more to offer now handicapping and stall 1 is a bonus. Sargent Dennis, another coming off a breakthrough success, scoring in a novice at Windsor, is capable of better himself but has been draw a little wide on this handicap debut. Kind Touch, who finished seventh in a competitive handicap at York, should find this a little easier.
