The fifth running of this race and the strongest since the first one, won by Colreevy in 2021, or it would have been had Allegorie de Vassy stood up when looking booked for second. It was run at a fair pace, on ground tending to “good” on the chase course, with the winner’s final 4f of 54.63s translating to a finishing speed of 108.5%, slightly faster than par.
DINOBLUE (c157 here and previously) tends to come up short against the very best males but it is a different matter at this level and she put in an assured and very smart performance to defy her 5 lb penalty, racing in second and travelling comfortably before challenging 3 out, quickening on approaching the last and left clear there, ridden out at a trip that is a maximum for her.
BRIDES HILL (c146 here, 148 previously) is still very useful and registered her third placing in a row, chasing the pace, jumping right at a couple and keeping on without matching the winner’s speed.
SHECOULDBEANYTHING (c138 here and previously) faced a stiff task and acquitted herself with credit, niggled by halfway but closing from mid to rear before one paced late on. She did well in a busy schedule in the second half of 2024 and may come on for the short break before this.
MAYHEM MYA (c132? here, 123 previously) appeared to excel but was never dangerous and may prove to have been somewhat flattered.
LIMERICK LACE (c122 here, 153? previously) isn’t as good as when winning this on softer 12 months before and was in trouble fully 4 out.

ALLEGORIE DE VASSY (c151 here and previously) would have finished second and run creditably but for over-jumping and falling at the last, a length and a bit down at the time though still keeping on. She had led with zest but jumped repeatedly right and still cannot be trusted in that department.
