Angers - Sat 31 Oct 2026
Following an encouraging campaign at Cagnes-sur-Mer last winter, BRUN DE TZAR (3) enjoyed a break during the first half of the year and remains unbeaten in 2026. CHATEAU ESQUIULE (1) looks his main rival, although Jerome Delaunay's runner faces a quick turnaround after winning as recently as Sunday. BRULON DE MIX (5) returns to action with plenty of ability to call upon. CASTELIN (2) recorded his best performance over this course and could make his presence felt.
Held up towards the rear at Fontainebleau last time out, AQUALI MELODY (9) caught the eye with a powerful late finish and should be capable of confirming that promise, once again partnered by Margot Besnard. Francois Nicolle fields three runners and will be looking to NICOBAR (6), an unraced youngster with an excellent pedigree, and DON DINO (2), who impressed at Fontainebleau, to make their presence felt. Debutante NEZLIGA (10) also looks an interesting prospect and could make an immediate impact.
MOISE JUNIOR (4) was sent off favourite on his debut at Dieppe in the spring and was beaten only in a photo finish. He looks capable of making a big impact on his return to action. MISTER DAVIER (2) was held up towards the rear on his debut but made up plenty of ground over the final circuit at Saint-Brieuc earlier this month. MASCARET BLEU (8) is worth another chance. Well-bred newcomer IDEAL NONANTAIS (7) is best to keep safe on the shortlist.
VICTORSTRUNG (3) has four runs under his belt and has shown on several occasions that he should benefit from stepping up in distance. However, he will need to be wary of the newcomers, headed by the well-bred PRINCE DES DUCS (9), who receives weight from all his rivals. Trained near Angers, FOOTING (6) is another interesting debutant who could make a strong first impression, while NO PREVISTO (7), representing Joel Boisnard, also commands respect given his trainer's excellent record at this course.
TOKYO DREAMS (3) took the initiative at Lyon-Parilly last time out and showed plenty of determination to keep going all the way to the line. CHESTER LIGHT (4) has finished in the first four on all three of her starts and will get off the mark sooner rather than later. Supplemented for this contest, CHAMPAGNE SUNSET (5) appears to be on the upgrade. The unraced SISMIQUE (13) is worth keeping a close eye on.
BIG FIVE (1) spent four years on the sidelines and would have a far more impressive record but for persistent health issues. He looks a solid contender on his first attempt over this distance. Benefiting from Leo-Paul Brechet's weight allowance, he will nevertheless need to be at his best to beat ORION ROCK (3), who is bidding to win this marathon for the second year running. ANDOUINS (7) is expected to show further improvement. EL CANEY (2) has plenty of stamina and should not be underestimated.
RIGEL (7) has finished second twice in his last three starts and looks poised to break her maiden tag. GOOD MEMORY (8), who struck at Deauville this summer, confirmed at Longchamp that she remains competitive despite the penalty and warrants serious consideration. STORMY NIGHT (11) is another strong contender. BELLA CIAO (13) should be better suited by the return to a more favourable trip and could bounce back.
AMOR A MANI (2) has regularly made the frame at this level throughout the season and looks to have a fine opportunity to return to winning ways. KARIOITAHI (10) is also attractively handicapped, having never raced off such a low mark, and will benefit from Leo-Paul Brechet's weight allowance. UM ELNADIM (3) has shown improved form in his last two outings and could get involved. WAKIF (5) is worth another chance after his latest effort.
SACRIFICE (1), a â?¬360,000 yearling who was initially entered in the Prix du Jockey Club and Grand Prix de Paris (Group 1), has since been aimed at more modest targets but made a strong impression over a marathon distance last time out. His stamina is a major asset, and he looks a leading contender. BLACK MOR (5) also has plenty of staying power and gets the chance to bounce back. NABAB 'K' (3) has finished in the first two on each of his last three starts and commands respect. SUMACO (4) is capable of much better than he showed at Le Mans.
MAGIC BEDE (2) performed well over the obstacles during the first half of the year and has since been freshened up. He could make a winning return on the Flat. MY LOVE D'ATHOM (1) has disappointed over jumps, but finished second in this discipline at this course in February and deserves another chance. MIDSHIP (3) is another talented prospect to monitor closely on his return to action. Representing an in-form stable, MYMONEYDONTJIGGLE (5) made a winning debut under Lea Suisse and could have more to offer.
