Verdict

Lizzana confirmed the promise of her close-up debut defeat here when rewarding those who kept the faith at Kempton. She looks to have a bright future, while Ammoony should do better this year, but they bump into a really interesting newcomer in TICKER TAPE. The Gosdens' filly is from an excellent family that includes Gold Cup hero Courage Mon Ami and high-class mare Danielle, and she will only need to have a fraction of their ability to go close.

Lizzana is the standard setter having stepped up on her debut effort to win over 8f at Kempton last time and she could progress again but she does now have a penalty and might prove vulnerable to the newcomer TICKER TAPE. The selection is from a top stable and makes obvious appeal on breeding as a relation of Ascot Gold Cup winner Courage Mon Ami as well as smart performers Lion's Pride and Danielle. Sayidah Aleen is another newcomer of note for good connections with trainer more than capable of getting one ready to score on debut.
