This Group 3 contest over the minimum saw Rumstar retain his crown and become the first back-to-back winner of the race. He did so by producing a strong finishing effort, quickest for both the penultimate furlong and the final sectional in a race that was run at an even pace (FSP of 98.49%). At the line, he was a length ahead of the long-time leader Luna A Inbhir Nis.
enhanced his excellent strike rate at this level, making it a fourth Group 3 success from eight attempts. Settled in mid-division after being a little slow into stride, he was pulled out to make his challenge with two furlongs left to run and from that point home he was quicker than the rest. He still had a bit to do at the furlong pole, but he stayed on well and got on top in the final 100 yards to win going away.
showed early speed to lead but wasn’t given an easy time. She won that battle eventually but couldn’t withstand the final challenge from Rumstar in the closing stages. The four-year-old progressed through 2025, and this was her best effort of this campaign thus far.
dropped back in trip here from six furlongs at Epsom on Derby weekend, having won over five prior to that. He tracked the leaders and travelled well but just lacked the finishing kick of the winner. He did almost nick second on the line (clear of the fourth) in what was his Group level debut on these shores.
was last but one as they settled down here and remained there for much of the contest. He made some late gains, but only passed beaten horses and never challenged the leaders.
hassled Luna A Inbhir Nis early in the contest up to halfway but faded in the final two furlongs.
failed to land a blow from her early position off the pace, hanging slightly towards the centre of the track.
was prominent early but started to back out of the contest from halfway.
ran as her odds and rating would have expected here and weakened in the closing stages.
produced another poor effort, this time as the 9/4 favourite. She was always at the rear of the field.
