Verdict

Downtown Nashville has more experience than his rivals after three point-to-points and a Uttoxeter bumper third, but he ought to be better over further and may be outgunned close home by GAME SHADOW. Fourth in a decent Tramore bumper and beaten less than four lengths, he has moved on to John McConnell, who likes to raid Perth from his Irish base when the opportunity arises. Dark Tide Rising may prove too strong for Captain Mainwaring in a tight-looking race for third.
