Verdict

Merrimack found plenty when making every yard under Chloe Lyons here a week ago. He'll be hard to keep out of the finish, but BRAVE NATION could prove the one to side with. Third at Sandown despite failing to get a clear run, that was an encouraging debut for his new stable and a bold bid is anticipated dropped 2lb with Billy Loughnane taking over the reins. Thornaby Pearl is the pick of the remainder.

Watch out for: Merrimack (1)

BRAVE NATION can snap a long losing run. His form tailed off at the end of last year but has hinted at better on his last couple of outings off a much reduced mark. He was left with a bit too much to do last time having met trouble and can build on that with a clear run. Hat trick seeker Thornaby Pearl is the obvious threat after a ready win last time off just 3lb lower. This track should suit but he will face competition on the front end from the likes of Loleeta who is well treated on her AW form but needs to prove her effectiveness on turf.
