It's difficult to look past DARTMOUTH CASTLE, who built on two solid placed efforts when opening his hurdles account at Sedgefield. Donald McCain's charge looks to be improving all the time and should prove too good for Irish raider Kashchei, who crept into the frame when fitted with first-time cheekpieces (worn again) at Downpatrick. Rupert The Prince ran a decent race on the Flat at Ripon 11 days ago but still has it to prove over timber.

This should prove straightforward for DARTMOUTH CASTLE, who got off the mark over hurdles with ease at Sedgefield last time and looks to face a straightforward opportunity here in his bid for a follow up. Kashchei stands out as the danger, coming off a fair third at Downpatrick last time, but he has a bit to find. Rupert The Prince showed little on his hurdles debut. He's run well back on the Flat since but isn't easy to make a case for here.
