Juan Les Pins supplemented a close second at Newcastle when getting up to win at that same track 10 days ago. The nine-year-old has five turf victories to his name and merits respect in his follow-up bid, but CHARLIE MASON shades the verdict. Tony Carroll's gelding arrives on the back of a good runner-up effort at Wolverhampton and he won't mind any cut in the ground. Our Absent Friends and Ay Gee Ell are other race-fit rivals to consider.
A pair stand out here in Juan Les Pins and CHARLIE MASON. The former has bounced back recently and snapped a losing run of nearly 3 years last time. He remains thrown in on his best form and will appreciate the easy ground on his turf return but so will the latter who is marginally preferred. He only just failed to reel in a rival who got first run over a sharp 5f last week and races off just 1lb higher here. The course winner has won over further than this so should appreciate the stiffer track than last time and Rossa Ryan keeps the faith. The consistent Our Absent Friends represents an in form yard and remains well treated on his best form so he also rates a threat.
