Verdict

Having finished a close-up third in the Champagne Trial over C&D, NIGHT STAR's experience could prove decisive. Richard Hannon's colt still displayed signs of greenness on that second career start and more improvement may be on the cards. Jassas, a brother to debut winner Blue Nazare, merits respect on his opening bid for top connections and market support would be interesting. Fellow newcomers Narrjoo and Mister Whippy are others of interest.

Richard Hannon's Night Star improved from start one to two when finishing third of seven over C&D two weeks ago and he sets the standard, but there are some promising newcomers against him with Godolphin's JASSAS, a son of Dubawi, taken to make a winning start. Brother to a useful 1m winner, he marginally favoured over Narrjoo, who is a half-brother to the smart UAE Prince. He might want 1m or more, though.
