Christopher Head Stable Tour

The rising star is in red-hot form and has Poule d’Essai des Pouliches favourite Blue Rose Cen plus other Classic hopes in his Chantilly yard.

Since the beginning of the season, Chantilly-based trainer Christopher Head has been experiencing a phenomenal 30% strike rate and with current Poule d’Essai des Pouliches favourite Blue Rose Cen already firing on all cylinders, he barely can contain his enthusiasm.

“We have had 10 winners from 33 starters, but I think I can do better,” he says. “We are lucky that our horses were ready for the good races at the beginning of the season and can now go on to the classic races. In fact, our main goal this year is to get horses placed in the Classic races.”

It was only at the end of last year that Christopher Head recorded his first Group 1 victory of his career when Blue Rose Cen lifted the Prix Marcel Boussac on Arc day.

She confirmed her great class on her seasonal reappearance when she stormed home in the Prix de la Grotte and Christopher Head has every right to dream about a place or maybe even more when she lines up at the start of the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches at ParisLongchamp on Sunday May 14th, live on Sky Sports Racing.

Here, Christopher talks to Liz Price of attheraces.com about French 1000 Guineas favourite Blue Rose Cen and his other leading prospects for 2023.
