Verdict

SORTED posted his best effort yet with a close-up second over C&D last week. Forced to race wide in the latter stages on that occasion, it would be no surprise to see Billy Loughnane take a handier position sooner and the three-year-old could be tough to overhaul if that scenario plays out. Lexington Express and Buckland Belle have threatened to win races and may take advantage of reduced marks. However, the less-exposed Nautical Sky could be a better value alternative on handicap debut from a feasible rating.

This looks a low-grade affair where the narrow preference is for SORTED. He stayed on well off a slow pace and ran to form up in trip here last time, with a top course jockey booked, and appears suited by this distance range, though he may have reached his level. Another with claims is Angry Ant, who pulled hard and had a wide trip here last time, while her trainer is in form and she is capable of better than that run suggests. Worthy of a mention is Lexington Express, who ran about to form when making plenty of use of at Southwell last time and is a consistent maiden effective over this trip.
