Verdict

LADY MAGU won with plenty in hand at Ffos Las and her stamina-laden pedigree suggests stepping up in trip could be a source of further improvement now she tackles handicaps. Others with potential for steps forward include Shangri La and Desert Belle, who both represent shrewd yards, while Ghost Story has been consistent in defeat of late and this wouldn't be out of reach if she can better her previous form on Tapeta.

These are moderate middle-distance horses and most of them lack a bit of pace. It is risky, but it may be worth siding with the handicap debutant LADY MAGU who was a wide-margin winner at Ffos Las last time. That form is quite hard to be definitive about and it was on soft ground but she is at least lightly-raced, open to improvement and from a top yard. Rose Cotton looks a danger back on the all-weather after failing to fire on turf last time. She is one of those that tend to plug on though and second best might be Desert Belle who ran very respectably on the all-weather at Kempton and looks to have a little more speed than most of these.
