Expert View Verdict

Verdict

KAKIRRA will be a warm order in this handicap opener and rightly so given he's on a three-timer after a pair of handicap wins here (C&D) and Bath. He's improved rapidly since going handicapping and seems versatile in regards to trip and ground, so ticks all the right boxes. Grindleton's Nottingham second was a step in the right direction and he joins Port Darwin on the shortlist.

Watch out for: Grindleton (2)

Port Darwin is a capable sort but consistency hasn't proven to be a strong point up until now so there are stronger candidate's, namely KAKIRRA who is on a hat-trick and should prove suited to the step up back up to 12f. He's won his last two, making all at Bath last time, and still appeals as being on a fair mark. Make It Up closed late when third at Kempton last time and is another to consider with him looking a strong place contender at the least.
