Verdict

Tenability should prove popular after his third in a Group 3 at Deauville, but he kept on late that day and the drop back in trip may not suit. Ghostwriter was a high-class juvenile, but has failed to win since and a chance is taken on WHITE BIRCH. A Group 1 winner, he has his first start since being gelded, undergoing wind surgery and a move to Jamie Osborne. If new surroundings can rekindle the old fire, he would be far too good for these.

Watch out for: Tenability (1)

A strong Listed race, it would be no surprise at all were Warrant Holder to leave behind his York disappointment and earn a first success at this level as he'd been most progressive previously, but he's in against some proven class-acts, most notably SILAWI, a Group 1 winner in Canada last October. He matched that form at Meydan in January, but was too keen in Germany last time and now takes a massive drop in grade - his last five runs have all been at the top level. He won a 10f Group 3 at this course last August, so has plenty going for him. Ghostwriter and White Birch are other former Grade 1 calibre performers, but they're past their best, and so it could be that the penalised Tenability emerges as third best.
