With most of these having questions to answer, it is hard to oppose THE LONG POINT. Emma Lavelle's gelding had plenty in hand when winning over 3m at Doncaster a month ago and a 3lb rise for that success may underestimate him. West Orchard failed to fire last time but is a player based on his previous second, while similar comments apply to Doctor Midas.
THE LONG POINT looks a young chaser on the up, winning well at Doncaster last time, and the wind op he's undergone since could act as a catalyst for further improvement. Harry Cobden, aboard for two of his better runs over hurdles, is back aboard also which is clearly no bad thing. Doctor Midas is still a maiden but ran some good races over hurdles and looks well handicapped on the form of his penultimate outing if taking to fences. West Orchard needs to bounce back from a lesser effort at Taunton when back over fences but he's on his last win mark and could be dangerous if recapturing his best efforts.
