PLONTIER is interesting on his first outing for Terence O'Brien. The 10-year-old won plenty of races on the Flat earlier in his career, between Poland, France and Spain. He was a smart sort over hurdles for Willie Mullins and may retain enough ability to score at this level. His mark of 87 sets the standard and the two rivals here with similar ratings have something to prove. Royal Approval pulled up over hurdles at Listowel on his return, but had some decent Flat form in England and could be a danger. Persian Bliss was pulled up at Down Royal and bled, which would be a concern.
PLONTIER can make a winning stable debut. The dual purpose performer has an absence to overcome but he sets the standard on his best German form and ran well in this discipline at Galway last summer. Royal Approval was progressive over middle distances in the UK and arrives fit from hurdling. He looks the biggest challenger ahead of Persian Bliss who is well treated on these terms on his AW form and gets cheekpieces for the first time.
