Verdict

MAJESTIC JUDE built on his debut when using his experience to best advantage and turning over a Godolphin newcomer at Newmarket last month. Despite carrying a 6lb penalty, William Haggas' colt is more than capable of defying it. Diamondsforyou can benefit from an extra furlong after filling the runner-up spot at Pontefract, while Master Celeritas displayed some promise in the Convivial at York and is entitled to take a step forward.

A tricky one to call. Majestic Jude improved from start one to two when winning well at Newmarket's July course last time and he likely has further improvement in him, but has a penalty and the filly DIAMONDSFORYOU is favoured. She shaped as though the step up to 7f would suit when a promising second on debut at Pontefract and can make the most of the 11lb she receives. Master Celeritas should improve from his debut and comes in as third choice.
