Expert View Verdict

Verdict

Juan Les Pins has seemingly forgot how to run a bad race and Mick Appleby's consistent nine-year-old is expected to be bang there at the business end again. Indian Run showed more when second at Windsor and commands respect, but NOVELLO LAD is taken to complete the hat-trick following a couple of ready Doncaster triumphs over this distance. He has the bit between his teeth this year and can continue on his merry way.

Watch out for: Juan Les Pins (10)

It's hard to knock Novello Lad given he's won back-to-back at Doncaster and still looks competitively weighted up 4lb. Indian Run is another who has worked his way back to form and he's more than capable off this mark, so is respected also, but it's STRONG WARRIOR who is the selection. Midfield in last season's Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, he's taken a few runs to find his feet in handicaps but shaped well when third at Ripon last time and could go two places better here with the prospect of more to come.
