Verdict

Having got the better of reopposing second Battle Fever to make a winning debut at Beverley, PALM READER looks capable of shouldering a 7lb penalty. Declan Carroll's colt scored with something in hand and there should be more to come on just his second outing. The aforementioned runner-up is the obvious danger, although market support for newcomer Red Blue Point would be interesting.

PALM READER made a highly impressive start when winning readily on debut at Beverley and, with the Blue Point colt looking sure to improve further still, he sets the standard seeking to make it two from two. Battle Fever couldn't quite build on his promising debut when stepped up in trip to six furlongs at Hamilton, but the return to the minimal distance looks a positive and he remains open to further progress. Red Blue Point is another son of Blue Point and makes plenty of appeal on pedigree, with James Tate more than capable of readying one first time out, so could have a say for the minor places.
