A race won by Too Darn Hot, Westover and Pride Of Arras in recent years and FIRST LAW could add his name to the roll of honour. A 1,000,000gns purchase as a yearling, Charlie Appleby's colt is a half-brother to the Group 1 winner Skitter Scatter and it would be no surprise to see him follow in his sire's footsteps and take this on debut. Flight Tracker is a full-brother to the Group-placed Macduff and has to be noted. The chances are that Crown Ranger and See The Mountain will need to improve significantly on what they've shown so far to be successful.

FIRST LAW is a beautifully bred 1,000,000gns Too Darn Hot colt and, representing the in-form Charlie Appleby and Godolphin team, looks capable of making a winning debut in a race of this nature. Flight Tracker is another fascinating newcomer from last year's winning trainer, Ralph Beckett, and with a pedigree that suggests he should be well suited by this trip. Crown Ranger has the benefit of experience and showed improvement at Leicester last time, but will need another step forward to trouble the leading pair based on their immaculate pedigrees.
