Verdict

Thunderous Love won this last year and is back for more racing off 8lb lower, though her recent ninth at Newbury leaves her with plenty to find. Lahina Bay clearly likes it here with two wins and a neck second from three starts but they were all in a lower grade and MAID IN DEVON gets the nod. Two C&D wins were followed by a narrow success at Chepstow and although upped 2lb for that, she drops in class which could see her win once more.

The red-hot MAID IN DEVON arrives seeking a four-timer after edging home at Chepstow last time and, with Rod Millman continuing in good form, she looks more than capable of defying another rise in the weights here. Liosa returned to winning ways in good style at Ripon and is respected despite a 4lb higher mark. Secret Oath shaped with promise when runner-up on her stable debut for Clive Cox at Chester and, making her handicap debut for this yard, remains an interesting contender with scope for further improvement.
