CATHERINE MAGENNIS put her debut effort well behind her when stepped up in trip over this C&D, finishing second by a couple of lengths on her second start, and she ran to a similar level as that when third at Ballinrobe on the softer side of good. She's clearly effective at this trip and has acted best on good ground at this track, so could improve again for the switch to handicapping. Yquem has been progressing in recent efforts, winning at Leopardstown and continuing to go close since, and is 1lb lower than her most recent run when fourth of 13 at Gowran Park. Spy is switching back to this code after four runs over hurdles, which included picking up a win, and was last seen in this sphere landing a handicap at Dundalk, so can be competitive again.
