Verdict

Hood Wink forced a dead-heat to claim a first career success at Wetherby but although respected under a penalty, MASABAN gets the nod. The son of Siyouni contested a couple of decent maidens when trained in Ireland and was far from disgraced on his UK/stable debut at Doncaster a fortnight ago. He's a half-brother to two smart horses and stepped up to the mile now handicapping, he can follow suit. Dalamara heads the remainder.

MASABAN failed to match the level of his Irish form on his stable debut but should build on that here. His opening mark looks generous and he will appreciate this step back up in trip so is chosen ahead of Hood Wink who settled much better when shedding his maiden tag last time. Dalamara was given too much to do on her follow up attempt but the form of that has worked out well and she could progress again so also rates a threat.
