It has not been an especially strong juvenile hurdling division this season, and Lossiemouth has managed to dominate it, assisted by her sex allowance, while showing very useful form at best. That was the case here, in another tactical affair, the 114% finishing speed underlining just how modest the gallop was for the majority of the race.
LOSSIEMOUTH (h146 here, 147 previously) put the cap on a near-faultless juvenile season, her only defeat coming at the hands of Gala Marceau when probably unlucky (she has beat that one comfortably enough the other 3 times they have met, including here). She raced in third and travelled comfortably, quickened to lead approaching the last and ran on well, kept up to her work. She would find life a lot tougher in open company next season but may reportedly be kept against her own sex.
ZARAK THE BRAVE (h151 here, 139+ previously) had been off since finishing second to Lossiemouth in December and ran his best race yet, a very useful effort despite some doubts about the robustness of the form. Held up in fifth, he quickened into contention after 2 out, switched to the inner and looking a big danger briefly then just keeping on as the winner pulled out plenty. More will be needed in open company next season but he ends this one just about the best of the male juvenile hurdlers.
GALA MARCEAU (h140 here, 144 previously) was a bit below form, even freer than usual if anything in second, leading just after 3 out but edging left and headed between the last 2.
NUSRET (h142+ here and previously) ran creditably despite things not panning out ideally again, one of those in this division still with some potential. He was held up and set a bit to do, making headway going to 2 out and continuing to run on without getting in a blow.
ENJOY THE DREAM (h130 here, 139 previously) probably dipped below form and certainly went very freely in this tactical affair, one paced once she stopped pulling in a position just behind the leaders.
JACOVEC CAVERN (h128? here, 118 previously) passed a few late and seemed to run his best race, though this form may not prove the most reliable.
YOUR HONOR (h121 here, 125 previously) led for a long way.
CINSA (h98 here, 115 previously) was held up and never really threatened.
