A somewhat familiar feel to this, as the principals had all met in some combination or other previously, but Impervious managed to boost her standing still further by winning easily, albeit in an unexceptional time (2.5s slower than Kilcruit, who carried 9 lb more, in an earlier handicap, though that one did finally run to a rating in the 160s in doing so) despite a true pace, the finishing speed around 98%.
IMPERVIOUS (c158+ here, 154 previously) has been flawless against her own sex and gives every impression she can shake up some of the better males given the chance, though the pickings are perfectly appealing in this division. She jumped and travelled well in second, led before 2 out and went easily clear, value for a fair bit more. She should stay a bit further, at least when conditions are not testing, but a turn of foot has been one of her winning characteristics to date.
INSTIT (c143 here, 145 previously) probably ran creditably, though brushed aside at the business end, leading by a few lengths much of the way, hauled in before a mistake 3 out, headed approaching the next and one paced. She has made into one of the better mare novice chasers but does not have the potential in open company of the winner.
ALLEGORIE DE VASSY (c142 here, 151 previously) has gone from seeming to have the brightest of futures to rather disappointing on her last 2 starts, less than fluent early but getting there with a chance 3 out only to find no extra. Still, she is easily young enough to pick up the thread with a summer behind her.
ELIMAY (c140 here, 136 previously) is not the force of old but ran creditably by recent standards despite tending to jump right.
RIVIERE D’ETEL (c0 here, 148 previously) ran badly, held up and jumping to her right, dropping quickly away before 4 out.
