Verdict

ROYAL FIXATION cosily held America Queen when she won last year's Lowther and her subsequent third-placed finish in the Cheveley Park earned her further valuable black type. Having bettered a modest seasonal debut at Newbury with a more encouraging effort in the Summer Stakes back on the Knavesmire, a sharper start could see the Karl Burke-trained filly again master her old adversary. America Queen was a place ahead of the selection at York last month and must be on the shortlist. Dash Of Azure, Arabian Dusk and Magic Basma can also have a say.

AMERICA QUEEN ran a solid race when fourth in the Group 3 Summer Stakes at York last time, making plenty of use over 6f, and the drop into Listed company gives her a strong chance to go close with top course jockey Danny Tudhope booked. Royal Fixation was a place behind America Queen at York and, having won a Group 2 and been Group 1-placed as a juvenile, is capable of bouncing back to her best in this company. Sing The Blues has won three of his last four starts and arrives in progressive form, but will need to find more stepping up in class against rivals who have already confirmed their class at higher levels.
