This tested speed, despite the ground being no quicker than “good” on times, a steady pace until halfway ensuring some swift splits late on, none more so than by the winner who clocked 23.00s for the final 2f (106.1% finishing speed). The favourite/runner-up was probably not at his very but Zeus Olympios looks very smart even so.
(117+ here, 114+ previously) goes from strength to strength and is bordering on high-class, for all the slight limitations of his rivals on the day, up to going close at G1 level on the back of this. He took a strong hold tracking the pace initially, was a couple of lengths down as the runner-up quickened to the front 2f out then was switched and responded well to pressure to lead with 1f to go, well on top by the line. He would not be sure to benefit from further.
(111 here, 119 previously) was a bit below the form of his impressive listed win on the July Course the time before, but with no obvious excuses, quite free when tracking, quickening to lead 2f out but headed with 1f to go and one paced.
