Expert View Verdict

Verdict

The application of blinkers brought a modicum of improvement from Devil's Peak at Sandown last time, but TURTY TREE looks a safer proposition. Andrew Balding's charge landed a maiden in first-time cheekpieces at Sandown last month and there should be more to come from the son of New Bay in the headgear. Cloth Of Gold has faced tougher assignments so far this year and he could fare better back at this level.

Watch out for: Devil's Peak (5)

Probably best to concentrate on the 3yos here with TURTY TREE capable of better now handicapping having got off the mark in a 10f Sandown maiden last time. The first-time cheekpieces really seemed to help then and his mark of 83 could be generous. Devil's Peak looks the danger with the step back up in trip likely to suit - he's also a 3yo getting the weight allowance - although Nap Hand has been in decent form under both codes and is respected also.
